General What is your overall opinion of this product? I wanted a bass that could cover a lot of bases, and quite frankly would be different from every Fender or Fender wannabe bass. This is it. The flexibility in terms of tone is amazing. I can get an almost Hofner thump or Rick ring, as well as the classic Gibson or Fender sound. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? Exceptional quality. Gibson has come through again. Features Are the features on the product what you were expecting? What are your favorite features? My favorite feature of this bass is I can get almost any tone I want. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? It is not the lightest bass, but it is well balanced with no neck dive. The neck is described as 50's round, but it really feels like a cross between a Gibson 50's and 60's neck. Very comfortable. The controls are classic Gibson and thus very easy to reach. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? I changed the strings to Rotosound round wounds, not because the strings that came on it were bad, but simply because I have always loved the sound of round wounds. This bass can go from "dark and smooth" to "bright and snappy" and one can get that classic Gibson snarl if you will. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Absolutely perfect. Not a flaw anywhere I could find. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? I picked this up for just a wee more than a 1000 from AMS, and I believe I got a bass that could easily command significantly more; particularly when one factors in that it is Made in the USA and has a nitro finish. Playability How was the action out of the box? Perfect
this bass is what a bass player would dream a les paul plays like

General What is your overall opinion of this product? this guitar is a beautifully finished piece. it is a little heavier than most guitars, but the sound, and playability are excellent. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? the guitar is very well made, and the patented Gibson switch gives you so many more sound options with only minor adjustments. Features Are the features on the product what you were expecting? What are your favorite features? I own several guitars, as I have been playing since the late 70's, and I can honestly say I may be retiring the others. actually it was as much, if not a little more than I expected for a les paul bass. who would have thought. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? the guitar is a little heavier than others, but with the 50's round neck, it is a very playable, and fast guitar. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? the three way switch, gives you a choice of sounds, ranging from the traditional growl that Gibson basses were famous for, to a funk and pop sound that was very surprising to me. pickups were hot, but I think if you could remove the metal covers, those humbuckings would roar. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I got the ebony guitar, and the finish is impressive. truly Gibson quality. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? I've owned several gibsons in the past, so I kinda thought I knew what I was getting. boy did they surprise me. if you want a quality made new American bass, buy Gibson. you will not be disappointed. Playability How was the action out of the box? I did a minor tune job on it out of the box, and this thing was kicking. sound man had to do a little adjusting on the sound board the first time I played it. that was worth it all.

I find it to be a well balanced very playable instrument with a great appearance. I have been playing bass for 45 years and this is one of the best that I have ever played. Tone Bright and snappy?
