General What is your overall opinion of this product? My hat is off to Gibson for this one! Great pick-up combination and the hollow/solid mix is evident in it's tone! Someone is gonna knock something down with this one! Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? It's ALL Gibson! Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Brand new twist on an old tone-- with an old beloved neck! Awesome! Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? Tone? What do you want?- It'll do it! Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Hand painted in Nashville. Wild! Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? I'm glad that I didn't wait until this thing gets going like I believe it! It's gonna go for three times as much! Playability How was the action out of the box? The action out of the box was even better than my American Tele was- and that's saying something!

General What is your overall opinion of this product? A great design and execution of concept! The solid feel and sound are reflected in the appearance. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? This has more tones than I've had time to explore, but for classic rock and blues, it is a sure winner. And for metal, the Dirty Fingers is outstanding. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Gibson's 60s neck, perfectly cut nut and frets make it a player's dream and the ease of two knob control is a real plus. My favourite setting so far is the middle with the humbucker split. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? With the pickup arrangement ant coil splitting, tone is infinitely variable. It has definite Les Paul growl and SG snap, but with its own distinctive personality. The short lyre vibrola works well and the tuning remains stable. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The ebony/pinstripe is beautiful, with hand pinstriping by Rick Harris. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? The deal I got was awesome, but I'd pay list for the quality of this axe, any day. Playability How was the action out of the box? Extremely playable, good action, out of the box. Intonation is dead on, with no fret out or string buzz.

General Your general opinion of this product. I've been playing for over 50 years and have owned more than 40 guitars: Stratocasters, Telecasters, JazzMasters, Flying V's, Firebirds, ES-335's, and this is by far the best of all of them. It has everything I want. For me it represents all that is good about the Gibson company - quality, innovation, and outstanding playability. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? The quality of the build is exceptional. Gibson really did a good job on this. I have read reviews in the past of other Gibson instruments that were critical of the quality, but the model I got was perfect in every respect. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? This guitar delivers a wide range of tones - and since I play many styles (rock, country, blues, standards), this is very important. For mellow or blues styles, the neck P90 does a wonderful job. For classic rock or heavy distortion, the bridge humbucker dishes out dirt in spades (they don't call it the "dirty fingers" pickup for nothing). The tonal variety comes into play when you can tap into the humbucker, rendering it a single coil pickup. And combining it with the P90 through the pickup selector provides wide tonal possibilities. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The appearance of a guitar is subjective. I love the looks of this - I got the ebony model with the pinstripes. In a world where most guitars look similar, I love the unique appearance of this. The finish itself is very good - no flaws or imperfections. It is a satin finish.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Gibson quality as expected. Volume pot had a minor issue but easily fixed. General Your general opinion of this product. Good guitar. Different look from Gibson which is main reason for purchase. Pick up configuration is very versatile. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The pick up configuration along with coil tapping for the bridge pick up makes this a very versatile guitar. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Pin Strip rocks!
