Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Ive had it for around 6 months and the action has not changed at all yet.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
Well if I was a peice of wood it would be having little midtowners on the way.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Very close action hardly any movement needed for tearing heavy or blusy riffs
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
picture a gibby LP,Es335,with the speed of the SG all in one.the middle set on toggle is like a LesPaul Hibread detoned slightly the other settings are toned like a ES335.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Natural finish is mine and it is flawless with high shined.

The Midtown Standard P-90 offers quite a nice palette of tones. All the way from the 'jazzy' neck pickup to 'Rickenbacker tone' and a touch of Telecaster, cranked up and with Overdrive added, the guitar can wail, sing and occasionally scream its heart out. This is second P-90 guitar and these PUPs deliver!
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Photographs of the fireburst seem to accentuate the red and yellows, whereas my Midtown finish looks tasteful and first rate. My guitar has a few blemishes under the top coat, a few dark streaks in the maple top, but I have already 'bonded' with this guitar and like its personality.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
The rosewood fingerboard is relatively flat, but easy to get around on. Yes, the fret inlays are plastic, but they fool me every time. Due to the neck binding, the fret ends are hidden. Overall action and playability are excellent.
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Structural build quality is excellent and the fireburst finish looks great, including the cream binding on the top and the neck. The neck feels comfortable, the inlays look cool and all frets are nicely finished. The strings were poorly intonated and the nut required a little rework as well. For an entire day, the guitar constantly went out of tune.

Playing through my Fender 59 Bassman Reissue amp, the Midtown Standard P-90 delivers a woodsy growl that I can't even get from my Les Paul and it is funny that the Midtown can also sound like a Rickenbacker or a Tele using both pickups.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
The playbility, tones and finish are good and the construction is beefy but still lightweight. I wish Gibson had not used a blemished piece of maple for the top, but it's no real defect and entirely natural after all. The variety of exciting tones makes up for small blemishes. This is an affordable no-nonsense guitar with many great tones and superior playability.
Playability and Feel

Although the guitar is light and small, I like its feel quite a bit. I feel at home on the fingerboard and don't mind the smaller body. The position of the selector switch is better than on any of my guitars: just reach beyond the tone control and there is this reliable quality pickup selector switch.

Very well put together and is pretty as heck. If I were you and considering this model do it now. They won't make this one for long I suspect and the unique nature of this guitar worth the price.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Had it 4 days and played it alot and it is just fine. I doubt it will fall apart on me if well cared for. The top appears to be 3/8 thick and I doubt I'll be punching through that over time and the back is solid piece mahogany.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
I am very pleased with the look, playability and sound of the P-90s. I rolled this guitar round in my head for several months before finally deciding to get the wine red model. Its very upscale without be too pretentious and so far has been able to play every style I've put to it so far.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Feels great, lighter than expected and just a tad bit bigger than a Les Paul in size. String width is same as LP so its very comfortable to play. Controls are easy - 1 tone and 1 volume and good quality pots. Neck is thinner than my LP and very familiar.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Everything I expected and lots of variation with the tone pot and swithching.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
3 low spots in the Wine Red on top but that is not an issue the rest of this instrument is perfect and very nice - lots of tone, class and playability
