Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? The guitar is perfect and came to me from AMS when it was 6 days old (according to the inspection tag). The fretboard is gorgeous. I was a little worried about it not being rosewood, but granadillo is a more expensive wood and looks a lot like rosewood. It was setup to play perfectly out of the box. The case is top notch as well. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Since I have only had it a few months I can't say, but I would imagine it will be as reliable as any of my other Gibson guitars. General Your general opinion of this product. EASY TO PLAY SITTING DOWN - I actually forget I'm playing some odd shape at home. I really love this guitar. I mainly play old r&b, funk and some rock and jazz. The guitar is fantastic. It sounds like an SG but much bigger. Think of the warm SG sound with the girth of an Explorer. I don't use distortion but it sounds amazing clean. Sometimes I use a Klon Centuar and it sounds huge. I have seen a YouTube video about the strings popping out of the nut - total BS. It doesn't happen. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? I was a little skeptical about the 'thin neck' description. I have a lot of guitars but my main electrics are a '60 Les Paul Standard and a '59 Standard (with neck repair). The Moderne's neck is big but a little flatter then what you would expect on a Gibson. To me, it's what PRS should have gone with when they say wide/flat, not to say this feels like a PRS. Think of a chunky Gibson neck profile with a slightly flatter radius. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Awesome! Like a warm SG or LPC but with a huge sustain and tone ala an Explorer. Just gorgeous! Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Perfect. The stock pictures do not do it justice. It looks more like a Korina V. The gold hardware (normally I dislike) looks great as well. I would have liked the raised Gibson logo on it, but aside from that no complaints. Action How was the action out of the box? Perfect. Low out of the box. No buzzing or any issues at all. Nice nut and fret work (Gibson is plecking everything now).
