Action How was the action out of the box? Perfect! Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Very well made guitar. Fit and finish is excellent. Absoulte beauty. The nut chipped after 3 and 1/2 hours of playing but, already in for repair. Reliability How has it stood up over time? To soon to tell but, see no reason why my son will not be rocking this guitar long after my death. General Your general opinion of this product. Just one great feeling, sounding, and looking guitar. My personal favorite within my collection. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Love the neck and the balance when standing. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The pickups are not screamers but have a great nature tone to them. Depending on the amp/effects settings this guitar could be used for all types of music. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Paint is darker than expected but no complaints here. Absolutly beautiful!

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Great fit and finish on this one. Reliability How has it stood up over time? So far so good :) General Your general opinion of this product. This is one of the best renditions of the V from Gibson in a long long time. Classy and timeless. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The feel of this guitar is light and fast. It has a slim neck, low action and it's light weight. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The pickups sound great, I won't be changing these out. I played this for four hours straight when I got it... It sounded great plugged straight into my vintage Marshall JCM 800 stack for that classic rock crunch. From Hi-gain to bluesy this V can do it all. I also tried it with a 5150 amp and it was a screamer, the note definition and punch was incredible. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The finish was flawless on mine. This is one of the best looking V's Gibson has put out in years IMO. Action How was the action out of the box? The action out of the box was perfect for me. recordingreview.com

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? One of the finer made Gibson products I have played. Very well built, finish is excellent. I'm very pleased. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I've had guitar for a month. I use it daily with my guitar students. It works well. General Your general opinion of this product. I'm very pleased. The overall opinion of the guitar is excellent. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Neck is very nice. Thinner than a Les Paul. It is also feels wider than the the Les Paul. This isn't a bad thing, just a different feel. It fits me perfectly. The action was higher than I prefer, but that's a personal thing, not a playability issue. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? With the mahogany body and neck, one would expect the guitar to be darker. I haven't found this to be the case with my V. The tone is not as bright as a strat, but it sits well within the musical spectrum. The pickups accentuate the tones from the guitar. They bring out the best of the guitar. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The guitar's finish was flawless. A lot of the Gibson's have "orange peel", tape lines, and uneven paint coverage. This guitar had none of those issues. Action How was the action out of the box? The action was higher than I prefer, but it was Gibson's standard action setting. I restrung using the my preferred strings and lowered action to suit my taste.
