General What is your overall opinion of this product? I'm comparing this guitar to the 2007 '68RI Explorer I also own and play. The Gov't series has Dirty Fingers+ (DF+) PUs. The '68RI has 498T and 500T PUs. Other than the color and the "Government Series" logo on the pickguard, that's the only difference between the two. The DF+ PUs are overwound by what I'd call too much. they are muddy and have too much midrange compared to their bass and treble response. They work OK for barre chords but are not articulate enough for arpeggios. Think Motorhead "I Got Mine" - you can't hear the single string accents in the melody when you play it on this guitar because it's soooo mid-heavy. Output is so high that it saturates the tubes on my 5W Fender Champion 600 at any volume setting over "1". If you want a clean tone with a tube amp, pick another guitar.
