Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? I got this one as a scratch and dent. I can't find any scratches or dents, but when I received it the action was way high. A quick truss rod adjustment and bridge height adjustment and it's a fantastic shred capable blues machine. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Don't know yet but it comes with a 5 year Gibson Gold warranty. General Your general opinion of this product. I have owned them all, teles, 335s, strats, taylor t3s, g&l, suhr, guild, name it. Most more than once. I came home to this instrument and I love it. LOVE IT. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The Gibson Slim Taper neck is just the bees knees for me. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Bright and twangy to dark and jazzy. Think of a Les Paul with twice the sonic range. The 57 Classics are my favorite pickups. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Flawless. Action How was the action out of the box? Way high with far too much neck relief. I think this must have scared the 1st buyer into returning it. Thank you, whoever you are for that!

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Seems to be incredibly well-made. Frets were perfect, finish looked good, even the wood is free of any weird looking knots. The only thing I had a problem with was one of the saddle pieces was broken, so I could't adjust the intonation on one string...the whole bridge piece seems to be on the cheapo side...odd, but that's the only thing I think is a problem that may be consistent for others. Also, Gibson is notorious for high nut/sticking strings in the nut...Supposedly the nut is also set up by the Plek machine, but I found the slots to be "sticky" so I had to run some fine sandpaper in the slots, that fixed it. The nut height is actually ok, which I haven't seen on a single factory gibson in years...again, must be the Plek machine. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Only had it for a month, so far so good. I don't anticipate having any defect problems. General Your general opinion of this product. I've only had this guitar for a month, but I play a lot, so I've spent many many hours finding out the range of sounds it's capable of. The finish is beautiful, hand-scraped binding looks sooo classy, the Plek'd fret setup is amazing. Overall, this will be my go-to guitar. I can get any sound I want out of it. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The neck feels substantial without being too thick, almost exactly between an SG neck and a Les Paul neck, if that makes sense. Because of the great setup on the frets, navigating the neck with speed is no issue whatsoever. It's the best-playing guitar I've ever owned, out of the 20+ guitars I've had over the last 15 years. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Bright, smooth, hot, mellow...you can get literally any tone you desire from this thing. Tweaking the volume and tone pots gives you tons of expressive and usable sounds. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? As stated before, the finish is incredible. Nitro, thin, deep red, just beautiful. Action How was the action out of the box? Action out of the box was surprisingly good.
A very fine guitar!

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Very well made. Better than a lot of recent Gibsons I've owned or played. Reliability How has it stood up over time? We'll find out! General Your general opinion of this product. Very good quality. As good or better than any of the vintage 335's or 345's I've owned Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Feels great. Nice comfortable weight and 60's profile neck. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Pickups are perfectly balanced. Unlike some guitars you have to tweak this one sounded good out of the box Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Perfect cherry finish. Not too bright, not too dark. Action How was the action out of the box? Neck needed a truss rod adjustment

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Yes Reliability How has it stood up over time? Just tuning... a little cruddy, but otherwise, awesome! General Your general opinion of this product. The 335 is totally the coolest guitar ever. The only thing about it is the tuning. The G string always seems to go out of tune, but man... what a killer guitar. I own the ebony and the cherry. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Feels like the perfect guitar Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Bright and the pick ups are mellow Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Perfect. Action How was the action out of the box? Great.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Quality is near perfect. Much better than the 70's and 80's Gibsons. Reliability How has it stood up over time? This is a lifetime investment. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Lighter thatn a Paul, heavier than a Tele - no complaints. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The 57 classics are excellent. I adjust mine down for a clear tone. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Very good - Gibson quality is making a great comeback. Action How was the action out of the box? Good. This is a starting point, most will want to fine tune it a bit.
