Your general opinion of this product.
Nice product. The only disappointment was that it was not a 5-pin quick connect. That was my fault for not asking. I wish Gibson would specify if it is a 2-pin, 3-pin or 5-pin. I know they say 2-conductor and 4-conductor, which you can know then that it-s a 2 or 5-pin connector, but the 3-pin, you have no idea. I had to cut the 2-pin connector off and solder the wire to my pot. My guitar has a 5-pin harness for the pickups. At least i didn't have to modify the Angus. Next time I know to check.
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Yes. It's made well and is a Gibson.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
A little darker than I was hoping. I was hoping for a good smooth tone, but seems a little darker than anticipated. It adds a great "chunk" when on a gain channel and mixes well with the Angus pup I have in the bridge. I didn't try this out in the Bridge position, but I'm sure that'll brighten it up a little. All in all though, the tone is good.
How was the action out of the box?
How did the stain or paint job look?
Chrome. Nice packaging and no scratches
How has it stood up over time?
We'll see, but I'm sure it'll last a long time
