This is my 3rd Custom and every one has it's own personality and sound , I am not one that likes the stock setup all three of my ladies have been set up by me and I Love the Seymour Duncan in the bridge, I have installed a original Seth Lover Duncan signed by Seth and Seymour on the back I purchased it at a local music store it was NOS and it carried a reasonable price tag of a hefty $70 it was one of the best deals I had got in a long time, after installing this incredible sounding PU along with my setup she (Bella) is my fave f the three the other two are Tuxedos Blacky has a sh4 Duncan in the bridge along with my setup he is the oldest and dearest of the three it was purchased while I was on tour in Europe back in the 90's and whitey is loaded with a pair of EMG's 81/85 using 70-11's strings and I wrote three songs on my last album inspired by this badass so I only use whitey just for them songs in drop D and drop C , out of these three fine instruments Bella is my go t

I've never owned a Gibson until now, I've always used the epiphone les Paul customs, but now I understand, this guitar is so amazingly built you can literally feel the difference. This guitar is also very versatile, it can play anything from the cleanest cleans all the way to the heaviest of metal. I don't have to touch a single thing about this guitar that's how amazing it is. The price is a bit up there but you feel and hear the difference and it's definitely worth it. The best part is you can finance it. I currently play through an EVH 5150 iii 100 watt and this guitar sounds beastly, definitely worth the money.

Iconic Les Paul

Product Review
After returning a Gibson Les Paul standard to another store for QC reasons, I decided to order a custom shop LP, they are made in a smaller shop with luthiers of a higher level. I was not disappointed. Not only is it a work of art but it has it where it counts, the action, intonation and tone of this guitar has made it a favorite right out of the box. Effortless playability and the range of sounds is truly amazing, it can produce a whisper to a scream and everything in between. We as guitar players know how rare it is to get an instrument that inspires us to play better, and more often and this guitar has the magic. I was hesitant due to the thicker 59 rounded neck but after an hour was glad I took the chance. This holds tunings like no other guitar I have played. And the sustain is great.
I can feel the skill and caring that went into making this guitar. A good example of what made the Les Paul such an iconic instrument.

Product Review
when I was getting ready to buy a new LP Custom I was Very Disappointed when I picked up the New Style Cut Corners LP Custom Guitar up. When I thank of LP Custom, I would expect nothing less than a Rose Wood Finger Board .If you want me to spend over $4,000.00 for a LP Custom being over priced guitar already.Putting a Plastic Raison Finger Board on this guitar just did it for me, one more reason to be disappointed in Gibson. I used to be Gibson's number one fan.The last 8 to 10 years or so , Gibson no longer the Brand I always had respect for . They always have been over priced but justifiable worth it to me , but not any more. The truth is I can thank of at least 10 quality Brands of guitars today at least as good or even better than Gibson guitar's are today . I own 3 LP's today and I've decided to sell them all. At one time it mint every thing to me to be true to the Gibson products but not anymore , now they are just a very over priced no better than average guitar to me.

Product Review
It is hands down the ultimate guitar in a world filled with remakes and redone's...there is a reason why this guitar has remained the mark of quality even from a company of many fine instruments...it simply doesn't get any better. I own over 30 wonderful guitars...the Les Paul Custom is the pinnacle of my electrics.
My two Customs are flawless...in build and sound! You can play anything with this instrument!
Totally comfortable! I traded a 57 RI on on of my Customs...I like the feel of the Custom much better...not that there was anything wrong with the 57...for me, I just like the Custom better in all ways.
It can be anything you want it to be...I like it for blues as the 490 and 498 pups sound smooth and glass like...different amps and pedals can shape anything but you need a great baseline tone to begin with...this has that in spades!
I bought the Black Beauty...with the gold hardware it looks positively regal! No issues at all!
No comparison; the quality of the overall guitar and the fact that it says Gibson Les Paul Custom sums it up!
Nothing plays like a Les Paul Custom...Nothing!

This is the finest guitar that I have ever played!!!

Your general opinion of this product.
This guitar is just absolute quality!!! Pay the extra for it because you will never part with it, I won't anyway. I originally went for a LP standard & it had glue residue on the frets so I sent it back and decided to go for the upgrade, I don't know if it was devine intervention or what but this thing has me shaking my head with amazement.
I wouldn't send this back if I found 10 chips on the body!!! IT IS THAT GOOD!!!
I can dial in anything on this beast, I am playing it through a Fender SuperSonic 50W amp. I was worried about the neck when I ordered it because I thought it was based on a mid 50's LP which I thought could be a little chunky, but mine is a Silverburst Custom & the neck is nice and slender. The new richlite fretboard is just fantastic, I don't know what all the naysayers are talking about with ebony and not being a real Les Paul. I swear this thing plays itself. I have been playing for 30 plus years and this is the best guitar that I have ever owned. The setup was spot on, not a buzz anywhere and the action was as good as it gets.
You can dial in anything on this thing with the right amp!!!
Perfect!!!
Flawless!!!
Just got it so we'll see, but through American Musical Supply they give you another years warranty for free, that was a seller for me, great outfit to deal with!!!

Bad volume pot right out of the box!

Considering that this guitar cost $4000 and had a bad volume pot right out of the case I have to say "well made" is subjective. Loved the enclosed check list where electronics were checked off.
Can't speak to this yet as I just got it.
Your general opinion of this product.
For the price there should have been nothing wrong with this guitar. Aside from the volume pot there is buffing compound in all the corners and crevices. Not the QC I would expect.
Plays unreal. Factory set up is pretty spot on for my taste. Can only play the bridge pick up so I can't speak for all the tones but the bridge pickup sounds awesome.
Again only hearing the bridge pick-up but it's nice and clean and down and dirty with some overdrive.
Flawless, except all the red buffing compound still visible.
Loved it.

Made to last for genarations to come it'll out live me That's why I play it all the time now, when I first got it I was scared to hurt it,But you just have to decide these things are meant to be played and I was'nt going to let someone else break it in....
Excellent, Alpine White starts to yellow a bit and some of the gold hardware starts to come off from where I've placed my hand on Bridge and Bridge pickup but just shows shes been loved..
Your general opinion of this product.

It well out last me I am sure. I will be buried with this one. I have 24 guitars and this one is an instant favorite.
Have had it for a few weeks and it is a top notch instrument.
Your general opinion of this product.
A real instrument.
It is a custom Les Paul so it is on the heavy side. Not as heavy as my 2000 Black Beauty but maybe a pound lighter. Very easy to play.
The tone is a very warm tone. Listen to TOOL. That's what the Silverburst sounds like.
I got the Silverburst and the pictures do not do it credit.

I was going to say that the Les Paul custom is arguably the best solid body electric ever made, but I think the burden of proof would be on anyone arguing that its NOT. I've been playing over 30 years and Ive never heard any guitar player make that argument.

QUALITY:
This guitar is made very well. The quality is unsurpassed. The fretboard is fast and smooth and the neck is beautiful. It is a very well built guitar.
FEATURES:
The ebony fretboard is so nice and responds so well to everything you do with it. The binding is great and the color is awesome.
EASE OF USE:
This guitar plays like a dream. It hits everything you try with ease. Even a novice at hitting harmonics of all types can sound like a pro with this baby.
VALUE:
It is kinda pricy. But if you look at what you are getting it is all worth it. It is the best of gibson without calling in a personalized custom which would cost WAY more. It will put a small hurt on your pocket but it is all worth it when you plug it in.
SOUND:
Well in one word....WOW!!! This guitar plays great. It hits harmonics great and is perfect for those flashy 80's metal players. It is everything that it is said to be...simply

FEATURES:

VALUE:
I'm going to stray from the normal opinion that it is overpriced. IMHO, it is a steal and here's why. Everything costs a lot these days, even crap, so if you want to buy quality, be prepared to pay. Even if you have to save your money for a year, do it! Buy quality, and even if it's pricey now, in ten years you'll feel like you got a bargain.

Your general opinion of this product.
QUALITY:
I've owned and played LP's for years nothing can compare to the quality you get in one of these guitars. I own a Jackson SL1,Fender Strats and a ESP 602. All are great guitars, but it seems to me that Gibson goes that extra mile with the custom LP's.
FEATURES:
The paint quality, wood, hardware even the case it comes in shows the care for detail you expect from a gibson product. And the sounds you can get from these instruments are always what you expect. 5
EASE OF USE:
Its hard to explain it, just has that Les Paul feel quality. 5
VALUE:
A little on the expensive side thats the only problem. But I guess when you look at what you get compared to other guitar co. Its worth it. 5
SOUND:
Great for what ever you play. Look at how many artist use them.5
