Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Had it 4 weeks seems very well made despite some finish flaws. I heard that is pretty common on these. General Your general opinion of this product. Sweet sounds and it's a looker. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Jagged edges and low spots on the neck binding. Otherwise, the gold top and nitro finish are flawless.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Seems to be well made. Though Gibson's quality control is lacking. There was saw dust in all the cavities that I had to clean out. General Your general opinion of this product. Nice guitar, were still getting to know each other. (I think I might be in love) Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The mini's are bright, this lady has a high voice. She adds more versatility to my tonal arsenal. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? It's a freakin' Gold Top!?!?!? In my opinion the best finish ever on a Gibson Les Paul. And this nitro finish is smooth, no blemishes, as close to perfect as humanly possible.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Based upon a thorough examination, a quick tuning, and a brief test spin, the quality seems to be there. General Your general opinion of this product. This is a very nice Gibson Les Paul for the money. Perhaps I got lucky, but unlike the previous reviewer, the strings did line up fairly well with the pickup poles in my guitar. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The mini-humbuckers are bright, focused, cutting and smooth. They have a sound unto themselves. Their output is relatively low and not as thick as a normal sized humbucker. Greg Koch has a Youtube video demonstrating this guitar and its sound. For those unhappy with the sound, there are replacement mini-humbuckers, and/or standard sized P90s available. I like the bright sound and see it as an alternative. However, if you're after the famous thick Les Paul sound, this would not be your first choice. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The fit and finish are excellent, but not perfect. I noticed a very small irregularity in the binding, two small dimples in the top, and one small rough spot in the gold finish where the body meets the binding on the lower horn.
It's better than the original

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Workmanship is very good by Gibson standards. Finish has a few flaws - I've never seen a Gibson that didn't - and they could've done a better job matching the color of the plastic parts. The wood is beautiful, with a 2 piece body matched extremely well. Strings don't line up with the neck pickup as well as they should. General Your general opinion of this product. It's a good Les Paul. That's a very high compliment, really. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? I bought this intending to swap the minis out for p90s, so I'm biased. The minis have their own thing - the bridge pup has an almost Tele-like spank to it that might work great on some other guitar. But it doesn't have the midrange punch of a p90 or good PAF. It just isn't what I want to hear from a LP. The neck pickup sounds beautiful. It's bright and articulate without being harsh like a Strat or murky like a humbucker. They're both getting 86'd anyway, as soon as the Gunsher p90s come in. The guitar itself sustains like crazy - even on the high frets - no matter what the settings are. No dead spots. I really like the resonance of these chambered Les Pauls. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Pretty good for what it is. Gibsons are like Italian sports cars. God sent them to remind us how overrated perfection is.
