General What is your overall opinion of this product? Not bad, but not great either. This will be just a temporary guitar. I bought planning to keep a long time, however, the quality issues has me already looking for a different guitar. I have always wanted a Gibson, but I am thinking that was a flaw in my thought process. I have owned 2 months and already am searching for a different guitar. I have owned several other American made guitars(fender heritage, G&L) and this one is at the bottom for quality. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? Extremely disappointed in quality. Especially when I specifically emailed AMS of what I wanted. I requested a guitar with low action and heavier weight.I received a guitar with very unplayable high action and very lightweight. This guitar can cover a wide variety of music. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Neck is not as thick as I would have expected, but it is still a decent neck profile. Controls are standard Gibby LP Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? Tone is pretty good, pick ups are pretty versatile. You can feel the resonance in the body wood. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Like a 10 year old did it. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? Tone, it does pretty well, set-up, fit and finish, not even close to other guitars in same price range. The fit and finish on an Epi LP standard blows this out of the water. Playability How was the action out of the box? Unplayable. Required major work on nut, intonation was horrible. I am just glad it says Gibson on the head stock, so I can get the majority of my money back.
Very Impressed

General What is your overall opinion of this product? I've always wanted a Gibson. I started on an ESP and wanted a guitar with better tone and versatility. This LPJ did not disappoint. I play it almost everyday now. Of course I play recreationally and not professionally, but it's everything I wanted in a guitar at this point. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? The quality of the entire guitar is amazing. I like the natural rubbed wood finish on the LPJ I selected. Finely crafted and something beautiful to put on my wall next to my other guitars Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Feel was great. More compact than my other guitars. But playability on it is much better than I'm used To. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? The tone is amazing. A chunky vintage tone from the Zebra Humbuckers sounds great. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Finish is awesome, a work of Art. I like the natural wood or stained wood guitars so this one exceeded my expectations Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? I haven't really played any guitars regularly over this price range. However, I am extremely pleased with the LPJ for what I paid for it. Playability How was the action out of the box? Plays awesome. The cleans have great tone and on the dirty side with some gain it sounds great.
Sounds like a woman in the throws of pleasure!

General What is your overall opinion of this product? The sound is better then most guitars, even most Gibsons. The thin finish allows the warm tone of this guitar to outshine guitars costing three times as much. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? The frets are finely finished, and the whole guitar has a “Hand made in America” feel. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The 50s profile neck is thicker then normal, but this bypasses the breaking off of the head-stock some Gibsons are known for. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? This guitar has tone like no other I have ever plaid! It's warm, and full at the same time. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The finish looks like stained wood, and will resist the scratches, and marks often acquired with active play, and stage use. It looks like it's here to work for a living! Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? Better then guitars costing three times as much! Playability How was the action out of the box? The out of the box action suffered from the 4 months in storage after it's creation, but a neck adjustment solved all the issues. (We have had unseasonably cold weather) The gig bag was trashed. AMS sent me a new one, to replace it. (sent it the same day I called)
Great guitar
