Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? This is easily the best of the Juniors. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Excellent General Your general opinion of this product. When I play it, it quickly becomes my favorite of the 4 Gibbys I own. Curiously that happens with each of the other three, too. They're all great. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? All good. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Actually pretty good versatility for a single p'up. I really like the simplicity of two knobs and no selector switch. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Excellent Action How was the action out of the box? Good but the luthier improved it.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Quality is top notch. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I've only had it for a month, but it feels rock solid and I don't anticipate any problems. General Your general opinion of this product. A great guitar that feels like it was made many years ago. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? This one's neck is about the same as my SG near the headstock, but get's chunkier as you move down the fretboard. Being an LP, it isn't quite as comfortable as my SG, but it still feels like wearing an old glove as I play it. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Though this is a single pup two knob guitar, it can cover a lot more ground than you'd think. It can sound woody or it can sparkle. It can growl or it can purr. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I've got the Ebony version and it somehow looks even deeper and darker than my SG. Still, you can see the woodgrain through the finish and that's a comforting sight. This is a much better looking guitar in person than the pictures would suggest. The paint, the pick guard and the knobs come together really well. Action How was the action out of the box? The best setup I've ever seen on a new guitar right out of the box. With the wraparound bridge there isn't much that can be adjusted, so it's good that everything is just right from the start. This guitar feels as good and is intonated just as well as my SG Standard that I've had professionally setup and have been loving for the last couple years.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Other then some minor issues, I think the guitar is well made. It's solid and the finish was pretty good. I doubt I'll ever have any issues with it. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Since I'm not gigging it and it has a hard case, it's holding up well. The build quality is there. General Your general opinion of this product. For the price I think it could have had a little better QA. Overall though, it's good value over the current issue Junior. There are some discrepancies with the listing and the actual product. This is in no way AMS's fault though. I have contacted Gibson and supposedly someone will fix it on their site as well. Sometime in 2009 the tuners were changed from Vintage strip to the individual Vintage. The Case is also different. There is no combo lock. The latch behind the handle has a place for a padlock though. The handle is also different. It's a standard single strap instead of that double pictured. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? I would have liked to see a fat neck like on the '56. The controls are basic but that's whats so great about it. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The H-90's sound great. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I had to pull off the Vol. knob as it wasn't seated properly. There were also some areas where the lacquer wasn't polished 'as smooth' at the curve between the head and the neck. Also, the sides. No one will notice it but you though. The Vintage Sunburst is nice. You can see the grain though the dark red finish on the backside. On the front, it's all black and sunburst. Much nicer then the Satin finish on the other Junior. Action How was the action out of the box? Plays fine out of the box. No need to change it.
