Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? fantastic, the only thing I didn't care for was the Gibson USA case with a big sticker saying "made in Canada" Reliability How has it stood up over time? time will tell, from what i understand they can outlive their owners. For the price, i'm expecting it to. General Your general opinion of this product. Overall it's a beautiful instrument, I've always wanted an actual Gibson especially after owning several Epiphone Les Paul's that didn't quite cut it. The Les Paul studio version has everything you need for great tone and is still quite a looker. It's pricey but I expect to own this guitar for the rest of my life. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? pretty fast action for a thicker neck, I wasn't surprised though it felt really natural. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Finish How did the stain or paint job look? beautiful, I cant wait for the nitrocellulose to age and look even better. Action How was the action out of the box? The set up was great it was playable right out of the box.
i love this guitar, it brings every thing a higher gibson can offer and then some

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? i have owned this guitar for a month, have already played 6 gigs with it, i think this guitar will last for long while. Reliability How has it stood up over time? have only had it a month. XD General Your general opinion of this product. this guitar came perfect. well nearly, i had to reajust the action. But other than that the guitar plays and sounds great. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? this guitar is smooth and quick. perfect for any type of soloing, or even if you just want to sit back and kick rythem, this guitar feels great to play. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? It holds the classic gibson sound, what more to say, its a gibson :D Finish How did the stain or paint job look? It hasn't stop turning heads the second i took it out of the box. Action How was the action out of the box? the action was a little high for my liking. just gave it a quick adjustment, the guitar plays like a dream.

How was the action out of the box? Very good. I raised the action , because I'm learning to play slide, but I like the action a little high anyway, it makes you work a little harder to get the notes to come out. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? The best of the best. It's so good I feel guilty owning it! The factory set up is the best. Yeah, its heavy but so F^%&&ing what? It's a Les Paul! If you want something light, play a steinberger! Reliability How has it stood up over time? So far so good. General Your general opinion of this product. OMG, this is the shiznit! No, really this is some good stuff. Just awesome, what else can I say? Anyone who says that Gibson isn't what they used to be can kiss my axe! Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? As mentioned, it's heavy, but that's what I expected. The tone lasts for days. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Deep, rich tone, it's hard to describe. Tone to die for! Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Fantastic! The best! Gorgeous sunburst finish!

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Very well made with great attention to detail. I did notice what looked like wood shims at the end of the neck near the neck p/u and some small spots on the top curve. No biggie though. I love my LP. The people who make these guitars aren't at the factory just to punch a clock. They know and respect the heritage and history and don't sully the name. When you open the case, you can't help but smile. My advice would be to record the opening so you can relive that moment whenever you're feeling down. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I've only had it for a couple weeks but see no reason why it should be anything less than quality as long as I own it. It's well made to say the least. General Your general opinion of this product. This was my first Gibson Les Paul, but not my first Les Paul. My Epiphone, while fine for what it is, still wasn't the real deal. I upgraded the pickups and this helped some, but the one I bought was the cheapest model made...and it showed. It looks as though it was cobbled together from leftover parts that the factory didn't want to go to waste. I still plugged in and loved jamming with it though. But now that I have the real deal? Words can barely describe the sound of those humbuckers through a tube amp. It's a tried and true combination that always works when you just want to rock. The finish on the guitar is top notch and almost makes me want to put it behind a glass case. The Studio is a chambered model, which does make a nice difference on the shoulder and back. The Epi was not chambered and the difference between the two is readily apparent. Now some purists might argue that the chambering takes away from the pure essence or something to that effect. Whatever. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? It's got a chunky neck that feels great in the hand. It plays so nicely. The controls are easy to reach and adjust. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Plug her in to a tube amp and crank it up. Please though, no solid state amps. Do the Paul a favor. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Work of art. Fireburst with gold hardware? This one needs to be sealed up and on display in a glass case. A picture of this one should be in the dictionary for "guitar". No description, just a picture. Enough said. Action How was the action out of the box? Perfect. As it should be.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? "Only a Gibson is good enough". And this is no exception. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Had it for two days now. Love it. It will last forever. It will be willed to my kid. General Your general opinion of this product. Affordable LP, without cuts to style, sound, and quality. A truly exceptional beauty. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Picking it up for the first time was orgasmic. The neck is fatter than I am used too, but is very easy to get used too. Super comfortable once you play it for a couple minutes. Super fast neck. Everything is set up in a way where you barely have to touch the strings to get notes out. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Does anything you want it to do, period. Can be warm bright and sunny one minute. Few shifts and turns, and you are rolling around in a dirty mudpit the next. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Oh my God. Amazing. I got the Fireburst. The nitrocellulose finish smells amazing. Take good care of it, it will last forever. Action How was the action out of the box? GREAT out of box action. Ripped through some mean power chords, and a couple classic riffs. Felt smooth and natural. The most comfortable guitar I have ever been blessed with playing.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Mahogany and maple. Rosewood fingerboard. Yes, I think it's very well made .... and built like a tank! Reliability How has it stood up over time? I've only had it a month or so... but it's built very solid. Go look on CL or eB for models from the 50s -today. You'll see how reliable they are. ;) General Your general opinion of this product. Beautiful, flawless guitar with perfect tonality and playability. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? NOW I GET IT. NOW I understand why so many people play Gibson guitars. The feel of the neck, the action, the sound ... man, I just can't say enough good things about this guitar. It's worth every penny. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? (see sound) Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Ok, the picture here for the Wine Red model is deceiving. It looks like a PAINTED wine red but it's not. It's a red clear-coat over the maple top. I was actually pleasantly surprised with it though. This guitar is simply beautiful. Action How was the action out of the box? Perfect. I played on the 10s that were installed at the factory for about 2 weeks then put some 11s on it. Still sounds perfect. No buzz whatsoever and the action is low enough to shred. \m/ >:) \m/

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Some complain that Gibson quality isnt there anymore. I dont find that to be true. I havew been playing for 37 years, and I know what to look for when it comes to quality in a guitar, and the Studio has the quality from top to bottom. Reliability How has it stood up over time? If it is like my other Gibsons, it will last a lifetime, and then some. General Your general opinion of this product. I am used to buying the higher end Gibsons, and thought the Studio would fall below the normal standard I'm used to...But this was definately not the case. The look, feel, and sound are all that of a much more expensive Paul. I couldnt be happier. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? I used to play the 60's necks exclusively. But over the last couple years, Ive grown to really like the 50s style better. I believe the added mass helps tone and sustain, and it just feels good in my hand. It doesnt feel near as fat as I thought it would. More like it may be in between the 50s and 60s neck shape. The controls are perfect, as with all Les Pauls. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? It has that Les Paul tone that we all love. The bridge is a bit hotter than a burstbucker, and gets great harmonics. The neck pup has that big sweet monster tone that sustains forever. I really like what the chambered body does for the sound. It doesnt change the sound dramaticly, but it does enhance the overall sound in a good way, at least to me. I would definately buy one of the new Standards now that I have tried the chambered body. I honestly thought I was gonna hate it...lol Im glad I had an open mind. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I checked this over completely, and I cant find a single flaw in the finish. The fireburst is beautiful, and the Maple top has a very nice grain to it. I was afraid it may look cheap, but it does not. Couldnt be more pleased. Action How was the action out of the box? Action was fair...A little high for my taste. I actually lowered the tail piece all the way down to the body and top wrapped the strings, lowered the bridge, adjusted the truss rod a bit, and it is effortless to play now.

Reliability How has it stood up over time? looks reliable , plus i love the fact that gibson is open 24 hours for support General Your general opinion of this product. great pro sound. beautifull tone dont love the case but who cares i dont use it . and stays in tune rather well Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? fells like a pro/ Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? ritch smooth sound, pickups are nice Finish How did the stain or paint job look? nice finish love the inlays stellar quality . also looks different in different light ettings / sometimes i wich the finish was a little more thicker. but i like that you can see a little bit of the natural wood.even under the wine red finish. Action How was the action out of the box? was high out of the box and the strings were alittle free/loose if you know what i mean some people like that so you can really get the most sustain when bending . but i needed alittle more tight.

How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Almost as light as my Gibson LP Jr...Neck is thicker than I expected but plays like a dream...control placement is great... Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? D)All Of The Above Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Gorgeous! I love this guitar! Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? The Les Paul Studio is very well made. As well made as any other of the Gibsons I've owned or played in the 46 years I've been playing guitar. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I expect it to last a lifetime, like any Gibson guitar. General Your general opinion of this product. Yes Gibsons are too expensive. Can You get the sound of a Les Paul on anything else? No. This is a working man's Les Paul. In 1983, I purchased a brand new Gibson Les Paul Custom. Kept it about 10 years and sold it. I just got this Les Paul Studio a week ago. It sounds just like the Custom I used to own. Doesn't have the ebony fretboard or the fancy binding but, so what. I didn't buy it to look pretty. I bought it to use as a tool to make money with. Looks like a Les Paul. Sounds like a Les Paul. Feels like a Las Paul. Even smells like a Les Paul. Do you want to pay hundreds, even thousands more for the fancy cosmetics?? It's YOUR MONEY. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Lightweight. Well balanced. I love the fat 50s neck. It fits me perfectly. No problem reaching the control knobs and the switch works perfectly. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? You can get bright and snappy, dark and smooth. The pickups can be hot, mellow, thick or thin. Just use the tone controls on the guitar and the amp. It isn't rocket science!! Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The wine red finish on mine is beautiful. Flawless. I've tried to find a flaw or smudge. There aren't any. And the grain on the "plain" maple top is gorgeous. Action How was the action out of the box? The action was a bit high. Took about 10 minutes to lower it to my liking. Now it's slick as snot. Intonation is perfect.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? It's a Gibson Les Paul, American made!! no need to say anything else!! Kicks Major ARSE!! More than Dependable! wouldn't trade it for any other guitar not even my Custom made ones($3000-$7000 Guitars)!! Reliability How has it stood up over time? Had it Less than a month but so far no complaints General Your general opinion of this product. Couldn't Be Happier With My Decision! Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? so solid!! forms to your body and style!! Sound: Fat but notes and chords are still very clear and not lost at all. almost seems like i'm running through a BBE sonic maximizer for those who know what that is. for those that don't, CHECK THEM OUT!! you'll Def understand what i'm saying! haha Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? All of the Above! surprisingly how great all individual notes in chords or by their selves stand out!! tones are also very versitile. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? i can't say enough how happy and satisfied i am!! no complaints!! yet! lol Action How was the action out of the box? surprisingly not bad! i'm very picky so no matter what will have my guy set it up! i usually play custom made guitars so like i said i'm very picky!!

Your general opinion of this product. The first unit I received was damaged in shipping. American Musical replaced it right away. Wonderful attention to customer satisfaction. The replacement has a minor rub mark on the body, but the guitar sounds and plays great, so I'm going to keep it. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? It's a Gibson Les Paul. No other guitar plays, feels or sounds anything like it. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? The quality seems great. I know LP's have a tendency for the necks to crack if over stressed (prob. for Nashville tunings), but a non-issue for me. If it were to fail, Gibson backs it with a life-time warranty and I have known them to be very responsive. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Very good. No problems at all in the 9 months I've had it and I play it approx. 10-15 hours a week minimum and was playing it 6/hrs a day for the first 6 weeks after I got it. Seems to only get better over time. These axe's like to be played and need to be broken in...they are built to last generations. General Your general opinion of this product. This guitar is exactly what it's supposed to be...all Les Paul and made in USA quality. I've played LP Customs, Std's, etc. costing $1,000's more and I honestly could not justify spending the the extra cash on them. This axe with its chambered body is not only very light, but projects a super nice tone with killer sustain. The fit, finish and feel are what you would expect in a LP. I play Blues (a lot of BB King licks in particular) and the stock setup works very nicely for me. Coupled with my Zoom 9.2tt pedal, I can get any sound imaginable. I doubt very seriously I would ever buy the more expensive LP models...simply no need or justification. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Like a dream! Some folks don't like nitro finishes saying that it creates a slow neck or gets sticky. This may be true until you break it in, but I have had no issues at all with this and I play the heck out it. The neck is fast for what it is and the nitro finish is great and essential for letting the wood breathe over time. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Bright, projects well...even unplugged it sounds nice for quiet practice. No complaints here. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Flawless and perfect. Action How was the action out of the box? Perfect. No adjustments necessary and I'm quite particular about the action.
