Very bright tone. So much tone i have to turn tone control down a few knotches to tame it.
Pickups are definately Hot when overdriven and mellow when clean.

Smoother finish than I expected.

How was the action out of the box?
Out of the box it was great. Some people have complained about the strings it comes with but only a fool keeps the factory strings on it. I played it for a little bit straight out of the box and it was excellent already set for the size strings i use so that was luck. But its really nice if you know how you want to set it up it will be a great time for you.
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Real solid guitar, input jack is real tight tuning heads seem pretty solid and all around well made.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Seems like its easy to chip the paint off, I scrapped a little off the bottom side on accident but otherwise no problems at all
General
Your general opinion of this product.
Well made guitar, Gibson sound without the ridiculous price. Definitely worth spending money on.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Its real heavy and the neck is nice and thick but not too thick. I'm very pleased with the feel of the fretboard/neck.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
You can get any tone you want out of this thing you just have to know what you're doin.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Still shines with the satin finish. Looks real nice the color looks a lot better in person and the natural wood look under the fireburst finish is outstanding.

Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
The guitar itself is AWESOME. The gig-bag is my only problem. At least put 2 straps on it like a back-pack, Gibson! I also had to file some of the saddle on the high E, as it was choking out bended notes. All better now.
Reliability

Yet to be seen..

Amazing guitar. Tone machine, comfortable to hold and play. The Fireburst looks great in my opinion, also.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
It honestly feels in between a true 50's and a 60's slim taper. Not as chunky as I expected, which is very comfortable. Pure joy to play.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The array of tones from the BB Pro's is simply breathtaking. There was no holding back on hardware.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
I was weary of satin, but what is really cool is that fingerprints don't show up all over like a normal gloss finish. This is a working man's machine for sure.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
A tad high, just like I like it.

Your general opinion of this product.
Typically, the entry level Studio series is regarded as slightly above average. In this case, you get the chambered body, baked maple neck, and smokin' hot pups make a guitar that is insanely comfortable to play.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The neck is a little chunky, but still very comfortable. I am a huge fan of the satin neck finish making this a perfect fit for me.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Good Lord - this is a hot guitar. The combination of chambered body, maple neck and burstbuckers make for a slightly brighter and SUPER hot guitar. This is a rock machine. Drop tune and metal up or get dirty blues. Probably going to stick with my Strat for church gigs, this LP is a little rude.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
This is a middle road for me. It looks okay, and it will show wear and tear. With all of the "road worn" and "vintage" finishes, I assume some will love it. I'm counting on it to have some personality after a couple years. I still like the flame tops and gloss finishes (at least on top) better.

Seems very well built. Everything looks great from the build to the satin fireburst finish.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I see no reason why this shouldn't last forever as long as it's taken care of.
General
Your general opinion of this product.
I love this guitar. The only thing you are giving up is the typical shiny laquered finish of most Gibson Les Pauls.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Very light for a Gibson Les Paul compared to my '69. 50's style neck is very smooth.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Might be a bit brighter and hotter than the typical Les Paul. Burstbucker Pros are great.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Stain looks great--just not the shiny lacquered finish of most Les Pauls. A bonus is that this guitar will not show fingerprints.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action was decent out of the box but intonation was not perfect. This will play even better once I set it up.
