General What is your overall opinion of this product? When I first starting looking for a new Les Paul, I wanted a standard, but I don't need coil splitting and an automated tuner. So, I decided on the Traditional. 2 pick ups, 2 Tine, and 2 Volume, one toggle switch. What else do you need. I never considered buying a 2014 model, because I really hate the anniversary inlay at the 12th fret, or the speed knobs. A $12.99 pack of gold top hats fixed the knobs, but unfortunately the I'm stuck with the inlay. I finally decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did, because everything else about this guitar is beyond great! This is my new #1 guitar!!! Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? I have always loved Les Paul's for their beauty, and craftsmanship. I love the fact that they still use most of the original machines, and very little automation. There really is no substitute for the craftsmanship, and pride that the men and woman put into these guitars. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? I have to say that I love the 50's neck profile. It just feels so solid, and fits my hand perfected. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? I have to say that I love the these new. '59 Tributes!!! The bridge pick up is bright, but still has great low end. The neck pickup has a really warm tone, but is not muddy. Even using heavy gain the individual notes come through. I haven't heard anything like these on a stock Gibson in a long time. It's like a VOS without the huge price tag. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I have always loved the burst finish on the Les Paul's. The fact they are hand sprayed means everyone is unique. This why I ordered by serial number to ensure I got the one I wanted. I was sent a different guitar. I was upset until I saw this one. It is even more beautiful than I could have hoped. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? I have never been happier with a guitar purchase. Enough said. Playability How was the action out of the box? I have always loved the standard set up on the Les Paul's. It just fits my playing perfectly. The guitar plays so smooth and is so comfortable, right out of the box. I didn't have to adjust anything.
Absolutely Outstanding!

General What is your overall opinion of this product? Having owned new guitars and or used guitars in the past and having a 93 Gibson Les Paul Studio that I thought was a good as they get...that was until I had this 2014 Traditional in my hands! This is the best playing, best feeling, best sounding guitar I have ever had. I was skeptical that Gibson could still produce a quality guitar with weight relief and chambering, fretboard materials that were non "traditional" as in rosewood or ebony, and was set in my mind that I would never consider a new guitar....WOW was I wrong! Simply put amazing! Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? Fit and finish are absolutely impeccable! There isn't a flaw anywhere, and nothing in the quality of the Pots or Pups. Considering how other model Les Pauls are now made, including the Custom, this IS the ONLY model I would have. This 2014 Traditional with the 59 tribute Pups is so versatile in a range of sounds via my Marshall amp, and quality and sound is amazing! Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Neck is a perfect late 50s rounded that fills your hand yet is fast, plays like butter. I like a low action as well. the fret work is outstanding as well and am a believer of the PLEK machining that Gibson does. Controls aren't an issue with a Les Paul in my opinion. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? Tone monster and SUSTAIN is amazing and goes on for days! You can achieve bright & snappy, or mellow and deep, The pups are not muddy at all and distortion or clean sounds spectacular! Gibson hit a grand slam with these! Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I got a Heritage Cherry Sunburst AA maple top that puts AAA tops to shame! The matching grain top is simply mind boggling! There is not a flaw anywhere and the one solid piece back is amazing as well. I have never been as pleased as I am with this guitar. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? I thought price was a little spendy but in my opinion ya get what ya pay for and I did! Bulk on the cost and spend less bottom line your gonna get less! Only guitar close to this and it is different in sound cause of pups is the 2013 Traditional, previous chambered models just don't have what this guitar has! Playability How was the action out of the box? Action out of the box is good however I will be lowering it somewhat in the future possibly. It's good enough as is from factory that one really doesn't need to do a thing! I did check intonation and every string was dead on! Flawless!
This is a really solid guitar

General What is your overall opinion of this product? I really like this guitar. I have wanted a Les Paul for some time, but I have been afraid because of the weight reduction that they have been doing for a while now. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? I think the quality is above average, certainly not over the top, but better than most. There were a few things that I think shouldn't have happened at this price point. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The neck is big and fat, just like the originals, I personally prefer this style of neck. The guitar as a whole feels kinda chunky and heavy, but it feels like you are holding something of high quality because it doesn't feel flimsy or cheap. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? The tone is 100% Les Paul goodness. It has a really warm neck pickup sound that sustains for days. The bridge pickup is bright with great definition, even at high gain levels. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The Midnight Manhattan that mine is colored is truly beautiful. My only real concern with the color is that it is a little too opaque for the AA flame to show. Also I had very very small scratches on the binding in several spots, at the price these are I would expect that to not be the case. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? Well, to be honest there are probably better guitars at this price point, but if you are like me and your guitar has to say "Gibson" on the headstock, I couldn't imagine a better guitar. Playability How was the action out of the box? This was were the guitar lost a lot of points for me. Right out of the box I had to adjust almost everything. The neck was really bowed and the action was too high even after straightening the neck. The frets somehow managed to be sharp even with the binding over the ends. The fretboard was so dry. It made a horrible scratching sound when I did vibrato. After doing all the necessary adjustments and conditioning the fretboard, it plays pretty well. The frets are still a slight bother though.

General What is your overall opinion of this product? Just like a real 59 with out spending 400,000.00 This thing plays and feels Better than my friends 1993 Gibson 1959 Les Paul reissue! Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? Quality is amazing! Just like it came out of the Custom Shop! Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The neck feels awesome. Thick just like a 59 neck Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? Tone is amazing! Has that unique smokey, creamy Late 50s tone like Billy Gibbons 59. Sustain last six days to Sunday! Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The fit and finish is superb like it came out of the Custom Shop! Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? It is a really great price IMO. Other Les Paul's cost thousands more and this one will leave them in the case! Playability How was the action out of the box? Set up out of the box is spot on! Best Les Paul in Gibson's line in years! And no mini tune! The mini tune is killing so many sweet guitars! What are you thinking Gibson? And thank you for not putting the mini tune on this model! :)

General What is your overall opinion of this product? Best playable guitar. Tried it at a dealer. Quality perfected! Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? The ability to manipulate the 2 pickups enabled sounds from soft bluesy jazz well articulated to sharp and heavy crunch. shows well and plays well! Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The neck allows fast and smooth agility from first to last fret. Having the pickup switch away from the volume and tone prevent accidentally changing pickups . Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? Due to the quality pot I was able to transition from soft to a great mid-tone to ear busting crunch without loosing tonal quality Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Finish is historical. Like a fine Rembrandt! Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? I did not purchase yet. In about 2 weeks from now. Xmass! The price compares to PRS. What I expected Playability How was the action out of the box? At the store. Wonderful
