Better than I expected.

Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
This is my 4th Gibson Les Paul, and I think it's made better than any of my previous 3, two of which I paid more money for.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
It's a USA made Gibby, it'll be fine.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
I'll be honest, I own 3 Les Pauls, and this one is by far the best quality from the factory I've ever gotten. Ever.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Heavy. It's freakin heavy. It's a non chambered LP for crying out loud. Haven't weighed it yet, but it's a 9er, or close to it. Neck is chunky but smooth and fast, very nice.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Through a Marshall JVM410h with a custom cabinet with vintage EV's, it's evil. The sound is like a creamy metal, it's wonderful. Neck 57 is coming in a little bright, but the bridge 57 is viscious. Can't wait to throw this through my Soldano head and see what comes out.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Great finish. I chose Honeyburst and it is gorgeous. It's not overly flamed with these Chevrons and cornea impaling bursts. It's just enough in the light, just enough to be perfect. The guitar does not have one single flaw on it anywhere. Best I've seen.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Now this was a first also. Absolutely perfect out of the box. Low, straight, no buzz, quick action. It's almost like they made it for my hands. It was truly unbelievable. Even a buddy of mine couldn't quit saying how amazing the set up was right out of the box.

Your general opinion of this product.
My new Les Paul arrived today. After I opened it, I spent a few moments looking it over and admiring the amazing craftsmanship that went into this guitar. Next I plugged it into my rig (Fender twin/Mesa Boogie triple rectifier) and entered the zone all guitar player know....completely lost in the sweet tones I was hearing. At one moment I drifted back to the early eighties to the Les Paul Deluxe that I used to have. The shape of the neck, the ease/feel of moving all over the fretboard, and the '57 pickups are the icing on the cake! I have always regretted letting my other Paul go, but I am so happy with this purchase
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Not heavy, very fast neck...amazing bottom end.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The 57's are a great pickup. This guitar just has its own personality and I know now after playing it for the last 4 hrs that it will perform all of the tonal characteristics of the music I play
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Finish has the same quality as the craftmanship of the guitar...really love the woodgrain coming through the cherry sunburst
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Was setup very nice for a guitar right out of the box. I am going to put 10's on it. May have to tweek the action and adjust the intonation a little. Very impressed!

This guitar feel great its heavy enough that you know you know you have a real guitar in your hands and its balanced great the neck is not as big as I thought it would be and that was my only concern from reading other reviews the neck is perfect for me it fits my hands well

My guitar is well made. I took it to my pro setup guy. He aid the neck is almost perfect. We discussed the bugger in the binding. Minor and on the bottom edge of the guitar. He said that was the only thing he could find. Because of the neck being so good we decided it was a keeper.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
It's a Gibson that will never leave my home. Enough said.

Your general opinion of this product.
I finally got my first real Gibson Les Paul! The sound is fantastic. I love the 50's neck and other than a bugger in the binding I love this guitar!
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
I love the feel of a heavy chunky neck Les Paul. You know you have a hunk of wood in your hands. The neck is perfect on my guitar. I could not and would not ask for anything else!
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The tone is true Les Paul. The 57 can be nice and clean or growl at you too! I played all versions and for me the 57's are the right pickups for me.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Finish is great except for the already mentioned bugger in the binding!
Action
How was the action out of the box?
The action was a little high for my tastes. No big deal. My setup guy knows exactly how I want my action to be so he made the adjustments.

It's a Gibson, I expect quality and I got it. I have the new Traditional, a Standard, a SG Standard and a ES335. Each one is a Quality Instrument. I have Epiphones and Fender Stratocaster. They are nice but do not have the quality the Gibsons do.

This Les Paul is an outstanding playing Guitar. The action right out of the box was perfect. The first time with all the guitars I bought I can say that. The finish is perfect not a blemish anywhere.
Playability and Feel

The 50's style neck fits my hand perfect. Very comfortable to play. The weight is heavy but the sound is worth the weight!!
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
It's a Les Paul, sound delivered!
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
This is the second Traditional I received from American Musical. The first came in a sealed box from Gibson ans it had a flaw in the finish just above the Neck Pickup. Looked like a bug crawled across the finish when wet. Had to come from the factory this way. I contacted American Musical and also the Gibson Factory Repair. Gibson was going to take it back and repair. American Musical also said send it back for an exchange. I sent it back to American Musical but the Honey Burst was backordered. It took 8 days to wait and my new one was on the way!! Came in perfect condition. Very happy with the treatment from American Musical Customer Service. Top Notch could not be better.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Perfect, it was low and set just like I like it. The others came with a higher action this one seems to be set perfect.

Great guitar. Fantastic quality, sound, playability and looks to die for. My only complaint is that it weighs a TON.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The neck is pretty chunky. I play jazz and fusion and it is great for that style as well as blues and rock. I wouldn't use it to shred... but I don't shred, so that isn't a problem.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Smooth as silk with as much bite as you need.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Stunning. It was worth the extra $$ to get the "Plus" version. Mine is the Desert Sunburst. It is really just a tobacco sunburst with awesome tiger stripes.
Action

As good as I've had. The Plek system lives up to the hype!

I have had several Gibson Les Pauls including std, classic, studio lite, and studio. This one is a keeper, what really sold me on this one are the 57 classic pickups and the desert burst. The binding is perfect on it and the finish is gorgous. The new pleck system is all they say it is. It was ready to play right out of the factory sealed box. All I needed to do was tune it. This is by far the nicest Les Paul I have ever had. I bought this when they had the 15% off sale and saved about $345 bucks. The 57 pickups have always been my favorite Gibson pickups and when they put them in this Les Paul I knew I would buy one. The tone is so smooth and yet can put out some bite if you want. I highly recommed this guitar.

I would give 'A' in quality wise. The HC plus top is very well bookmatched and the figure is very attractive even though I could not see it before I receive it - because it was AMS web order. Everything is good enough except minor scratch issues on mine. Overall, I am happy with this beauty.
Reliability

I don't worry about reliability of this guitar. Just careful to carry around.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
It is a better than expected Gibson Les Paul. I think I get what I paid for. A minor finish issues. Other than that, it is indeed great guitar for every guitar player.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Worried about the neck thickness, but great feel and playability even with my small hands. I used to play Strat modern 'C' neck, but it is much comfortable to play any songs that I could play. Thanks to the thick neck, the sustain is also great.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Bright and crisp just like other Les Pauls that Mr. Page played.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Finish works are excellent comparing to the many high end Fender guitars IMO. Though it has some light scratches from the factory, but I could live with that. Oddly, the smell of the finish is good too.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Nearly perfect 'Plek'd' setup right out of the box. Action and intonation is just great.

What else can you say it's a real les paul, weight and all. The finish is perfect. I still just sit a look into the desert burst. the neck is wide and I mean wide, but I have found this to be great for accuracy.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The neck is wide but not a log. It's not crazy thick just wide.
Tone

The tone is thick and clear, can be bright or mellow depending on the selector. Like I said earlier NO HUM and HOT pickups.
Finish

Perfect
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Overall the action is great, the bottom string is a little sensitive about breaking over the third fret, but I really like to bend strings.
