Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? all my les pauls have never failed. some issues with tuning on some, but not this one, keeps perfect tune, as it should, with locking trem. dependable, you bet. the only thing that could detract from it's dependability would be for me to damage it. (or someone else!)(and they better not, and i better not!) Reliability How has it stood up over time? will update next year at this time. have had the guitar for a while now and it's fine. Overall Your general opinion of this product. AMS you rock for making this possible!! Overall, but only for the price, this would be a straight 100% approval rate. I still gave it a max review because putting a lower rating just because of price isn't really fair to the guitar. after all the guitar doesn't price itself! The guitar arrived in PERFECT CONDITION. like i was standing at the end of the painting booth-after the laquer had dried, someone just handed it to me. The SMELL of the guitar is an intoxicant. like new car leather, it's THAT good! (probably toxic, but good anyway!) Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? plays fast, thinner neck, controls are a bit stiff but in a way that is good because the knobs won't lose the spot when knocked around by my pete townshend windmills. THe coil tap is stiffer too when pulled up. but all in all this isn't a concern. far better to be tight than loose. I think these are the vintage, nickel strings because my fingers got black as i played it. this seems to happen with the nickle wound strings. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? sustains forever. also very resonant. the whole guitar comes together to vibrate in the perfect way, much like an acoustic. if it didn't do this, like my old thick, heavy, les pauls, i'd be concerned. remember, this ISN'T your traditional les paul. For those who have pauls, and those in need of something more contemporary, and a trem are, then, in my opinion, it's great, bright, fast and wonderful. wunderbar for the germans. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? perfect in every way. I got the gun metal grey for something different. i have plenty of sunbursts with plenty of fine AA all the way to AAAAA tops. So, i was looking for something different. seems that the sunburst is never available anyway in this model. i'd recommend this one to anyone. it's really nice. hard to describe, but definitely will be a collector in the future. Action How was the action out of the box? PERFECT! Just as promised, PLECKED, and perfectly LOW. I like it low. Maybe these ship with the strings flat. but i had to loosen the locking nut, bring to pitch with the head tuners, then lock the nut then fine tune the floyd rose. The action was great either way. the neck was perfectly in tune no matter which fret i played, anywhere on the neck. amazing.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? I have found my guitar's rhythm/lead switch to be hair triggered from the rhythm to center position. At this point, I haven't made my mind up on if that is a good thing or not! Reliability How has it stood up over time? At this time, given the Axcess' warranty and Gibson's name I have no concern over reliability. Overall Your general opinion of this product. When purchasing a guitar at this price level, it is difficult to accept buying one sight unseen... but I am glad I did! The plus here is that I asked for, and received, a factory seal intact instrument. Given the factory seal, I need not worry about the guitar being used as a demo by countless shredders (and who knows how well the instrument was treated by all those who laid their hands on it!) Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? No doubt that this is the easiest guitar I have ever played. Just love the Floyd Rose (a primary reason why I selected this model!). The unique neck access helps in the "keeping it easy to play" part of the equation. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Given the guitar's intrinsic pickups, tone & volume knobs, and the ability to push/pull the treble switch for coil splitting... couldn't be happier with the pure number of combinations that affect the resulting sound. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The Ice Tea finish my Axcess has is a true work of art, but I wouldn't expect anything less at this price point. Action How was the action out of the box? With the Axcess' Floyd Rose, you have easy (comparatively speaking) access to adjusting the action. I found that I was happy with the out of the box action... but we all know that can change as one spends more time with a piece of gear! Good luck figuring out what strings that Gibson puts on the Axcess. The guitar's accompanying paper work references a part number (E440) as the Gibson recommended string set for the Axcess. Problem is that you can't even find strings by that moniker on Gibson's website!
