General Your general opinion of this product. well made and easy to play. easiest playing guitar I've ever owned. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? very well made. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? well balanced and light body. neck is thin and fast. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? typical dry Gibson tone. doesn't sound as deep on bass strings as j45, but I like that. General Your general opinion of this product. Great finger style guitar and a good country or folk guitar. It won't play with a D 28 for Bluegrass rhythym. Does not have the boom, but it is great for other styles. The quality is top-notch and was the most playable guitar out of the box that I have seen. It has the dry airy feel of the old Gibsons. I have never played a J45 that I liked, but this 35 is head-overheels above the 45's because of the scalloped bracing. Much louder, more sustain. I have a lot of guitarsmy favorite an HDV 28 Martin that will break windows, but this one will be my go-to finger style and I will not be looking to improve on it. At this price it simply cannot be beaten. In my opinion as far as quality of sound and workmanship I would rather have it above any other Gibson acoustic...which is why I have it. I have a Gibson hollow body, LP, American Strat, Martin DHD 28, 0018, D'Angelicos, Gretsch's etc... This guitar is as good as any that I own. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Very well made, but do not understand putting the synthetic Tusq nut and saddle on a guitar of this quality. Bone makes a marked difference. I also adjusted the action slightly but it was not bad out of the box. The mahogany and spruce were prime. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Chunky neck but fast and comfortable. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Not as deep as an HD 28 but enough bass to make it a great sounding finger style. Overall tone is fairly even, medium treble and bass ends and you can get good note separation and still have sustain. Great for country and folk rhythm. It has the type of tone that only comes from a solid guitar that is well made from prime materials. Action How was the action out of the box? Very good. I lowered it slightly but that was just personal preference. It was very good out of the box. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Excellent. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Its new.
