Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Went over her with a fine tooth comb as soon as it arrived. I couldn't find any problems with the guitar, everything is top notch from the binding to the electronics and everything inbetween. General Your general opinion of this product. Ordering a new instrument through the mail can be a difficult choice. Everyone wants to be able to get their hands on something before they purchase it. After I saw this model for the first time I knew I had to have one. Unable to find one to play in person I took the plunge and ordered online through AMS, sight unseen. And I couldn’t be happier! It has a list of features I’ve been waiting for on an SG at a price tag of under $2,000; the thin (yet “rounded”) 60’s neck, the Lyre vibrato, and a unique finish. Also, this is my first Gibson with Burstbuckers, I was excited about those as well. I have only had the guitar for a week now and I can already tell I will be playing her as much as possible. She has a different feel and sound than my Les Paul Classic and ’67 reissue Flying V. I really can’t tell you how happy I am with this purchase. AMS, you guys are the best. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? I can get a great variety of tones from the Burstbuckers through my Orange and Hi Watt. For a two humbucker guitar it sounds good when playing through a clean channel, obviously not Tele/Strat clean, but still sounds great. Push it/overdrive it and look out! She screams. Snappy attack if you play with highs all the way to muddy, "chunky" lows. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Drop dead gorgeous. The Blue Mist finish is fantastic, looking at pictures does it no justice.
Wow, I really like this guitar

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Yes, there was a slight issue with the wiring. I took off the back panel and everything was compressed or squished together and it was creating a short. I just moved the wires into a bit more space and problem was solved. General Your general opinion of this product. This guitar looks amazing, it's a show stopper - the blue and cream are great together. But more importantly the Burstbucker 1 pickups creat a very unique dirty sound when playing through some distortion, but classic clean sound when clean. Also, since it's SG, it's lightweight and the added “Lyre” vibrato and 24 frets gives me additional options. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? I would say the pickups are just about perfect. I play both clean and distored and the sound works well for both, although there is a definately distinctive sound when slightly dirty that I can't get out of my les pauls that I own. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? This is one of the reaons I picked this up. Like I said at top, it's a show stopper, everyone wants to check it out.
