General What is your overall opinion of this product? The Guitar came in with bad strings and a bowed neck. Was not playable in this condition. Had to do a pro set-up to fix action and neck problem. Also the nut on the neck needed to be filed down by my tech during the pro ste-up. After the setup this guitar plays great. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? This is a well built guitar but was probaby returned and sold to me so that took away from Gibson quality out of the box. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Knobs are hard to turn but the neck is the best part of this SGJ guitar. Fast action and a great guitar for my purposes of home recording and practice. Will upgrade to a standard if I start Gigging. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? The tone is crisp, sharp, and screams at you when playing metal or hard rock. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Great nautural wood finish. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? For the price this guitar is a steal but it is no where near as smooth as a standard which I use to own. But for the price I reccomend this guitar. You may need a pro set-up for around $49.99 but it is owrth every penny. Playability How was the action out of the box? Terrable, Had used strings, High action and a bowed neck. Neck nut needs filing too.

General What is your overall opinion of this product? I was alittle skeptical at first because I havent played the SGJ line before ive only played the LPJ. This guitar is a steal of a deal it honestly is. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? at first glance everything was perfect right out of the box. when I got closer boom! perfect no sharp frets now flaws in the rubbed satin mine is "fireburst" which looks amazing the neck feels nice not to thick not to thin. but the factory setup horrible playable but not to my standards Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? the feel is thin which is what you would expect from an SG the neck is satin which I really like makes it nice and fast with the slim profile. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? heres the interesting thing this SG is really warm sounding. I do how ever think the bridge pickup in my honest opinion is junk. it's just very muddy and breaks up way to fast no problem I had planned on swapping pickups anyways. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? the finish is amazing it was even better in person. I have a Telecaster in matte black and I love the finish so this was a no brainer. it has nice nostalgic look to it with the satin finish and in a few years of playing etc itl look relic'd and road worn another thing I dig. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? for the price this guitar is a steal! ive played lots of guitars and I own 4 others and the built quality is here at 500$ im ust waiting for gibson to jack the price up glad I got mine dont wait if your looking at this guitar and thinking dont buy one!!! Playability How was the action out of the box? not the best but as a musician you set it up to your specs!
