Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Out of the box, the guitar could have been set up much better by the factory. The action was set high, and some strings were fretting out on the lower frets. Some small adjustments, and i got it right where i want it. Wasn't a big issue for me, i usually tweak, and mod, and tweak until i am satified. The neck was set well, everything looks well crafted and assembled. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I've only had it a few weeks, but it's an American made Gibson. I'm sure it will hold up fine. Overall Your general opinion of this product. I've owned just about every style of guitar, and i've been on a never ending quest for tone. The sound of the p90's is exactly what i've been looking for. The clarity of single coils, but not as thin. I wanted the SG Classic for a while, but this is a much better quality guitar in my opinion, and with a very nice HSC for practically the same price. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? fast, wide neck. Love the painted finish on the back of the neck. I've always been a Fender guy, i'm not used to such luxuries. No complaints about the baked maple. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Great sound from the P90's. Chords sound amazing. Clarity and tons of sustain. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Nice nitro finish. Being that it is all black, every smudge, pick mark, etc. is going to show. Just something you have to live with. Action How was the action out of the box? Could have been setup much better, but i'm very picky on these things. A few small adjustments and I was in business. The nut could be cut a little deeper.
Not too many out there just yet

How was the action out of the box? Slight adjustment for my personal playing Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Very good quality. Reliability How has it stood up over time? The baked maple is new to most of us, so we'll see...but it should hold up just fine if I don't drop it. Overall Your general opinion of this product. Really cool guitar that sounds great and looks beautiful! And pretty rare at the moment. Part of me wants Gibson to discontinue this quickly so I can have a even more rare guitar in the future, but I imagine it'll be around for a bit. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Plays like a good standard should. I love SG's and have owned a few...this one is my favorite so far and will try to hang onto it. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? I run this through a Laney L20T410 and it is perfect for good clean tone and classic crunchy stuff. Sounds amazing...the kind of thing you hate to put down. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Looks pretty nice to me.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Excellent quality black nitro finish. The baked maple fret board is hard like ebony and sounds bright. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Like all Gibsons it will age to perfection. Overall Your general opinion of this product. A stepped up version of the SG Classic based on the 60's versions. The warm gritty sound with all the class of an SG Standard. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The neck is fast and medium in size. I have big hands so it fits me perfect. Sort of like a 59 Les Paul type neck but not as chunky. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The combination of baked maple board and P90 pick ups produce a warm tone. Blues to hot leads. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Perfect mirror black nitro finish. Action How was the action out of the box? The action is great out of the box with the Plek set up. I will adjust to taste.
