Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Read reviews about finish issues. Not with mine-smooth as glass. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Not sure yet, but feels solid. Overall Your general opinion of this product. Should have been packaged with a hard case! Gig bad is decent enough, but not protective enough for such a fine instrument. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Fulfilled my dreams. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Beautiful. Action How was the action out of the box? Needed slight adjustments to set for my personal style.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Overall a good guitar. But I'm very disappointed in the electronics. I am already having problems with the 3 way switch, and there isn't alot of dynamics in the volume and tone controls. I've had Les Pauls and an explorer in the past (all 1991-1998), and the quality of the componets in those were far better. It's a shame that the prices keep going up, but the quality is going the other way. I'll be replacing the switch and pots before too long. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I'm worried about this one. Overall Your general opinion of this product. No where near the quality of the Gibsons I've owned in the past. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Weight is perfect, and like all Gibsons, it's well balanced. The headstock doesn't take a nosedive for the floor when you let go of the neck. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Standard Gibson Alnico magnet pickups, not too hot, but not thin either. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? This is my first SG. I got the ebony finish. I'm alittle suprised the grain wasn't filled before it was finished. You can see the grain of the wood in the finish, not nearly as smooth as I had hoped for. Action How was the action out of the box? Out of the box, it was a mess. But a height adjustment on the bridge, and a slight truss rod tweak to straighten the neck out and we were cookin' with gas!
