Alwasys sounds great, keeps me playing. I am proud to own the songwriter.
Sound:
In a word, balanced, nothing sounds out of place. It is the perfect recording guitar, needs no eq. The tone just soaks into your soul.
Reliability:
No issues, handbuilt in the U.S.A.
Overall:
In my opinion, this is Gibsons best acoustic guitar, mine is a 2008. I record with it unpluged, using an audio technica 4050 condencer mic, and have gotten incredible results.
Playability and Feel:
Its good, not great, my rist can get sore after an hour of playing. Well balanced neck.
Tone:
Lows are defined, not boomy, mids are clear, treble is a bit mellow, all together fits nicely.
Finish:
Excellent, flawless finnish. Mother of pearl parallelagrams and soundhole abalone just sublime.
Action:
Good, had it set up, now its better

Songwriter Deluxe is SWEEEEEET!
Quality:
This guitar is top notch. I played at least 50 other guitars to compare and this one beat all of the them, including a $3,000 Martin.
Reliability:
Solid. I haven't had it long but all of the reviews state super reliability. Feels super sturdy. I'm not afraid to handle it, I play fairly heavy.
Overall:
Overall. I love this guitar. Looks, feel, sound. I use it in an acoustic duo, to record and just to write. It plays so nicely it inspires me. The electronics are also great. I plug it into my amp and it sounds perfect. Can't wait to play live with it.
Playability and Feel:
Feels good. Has a more solid feel to me then other guitars I played. I like to strum hard and still have a solid, smooth feel. The guitar is just fun to play, easy to handle and sits nicely when you're in a studio tracking. Chords feel good to play; you're not struggling to hold down every fret. It just sort of happens. Great for lead stuff too!
Tone:
The tone is the main reason I bought this guitar. Other guitars, say Taylor, sounded good but too bright. Some guitars had a good bottom end but the brightness was missing. This guitar pretty much covers it all. It just is so solid, but bright. It's amazing. I made my band mate and girlfriend sit in guitar stores and listen to this guitar compared to others and we determined that gibson makes magical guitars, especially this one!
Finish:
Beautiful.
Action:
Out of the box plays nicely. I may have it set up for a bit lower of action but I do this with every instrument.
