General Your general opinion of this product. I play a small cajon along with acoustic guitar so percussion isn't my first instrument but, I can see some design flaws for road worthiness already. The pedal should be chain driven and the beater head could be cast aluminum versus plastic. Also, replacement parts are not all available at this time so extreme care must be taken especially with the cable. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Overall, Gibraltar seems to make good pedals, I would have paid a bit extra for a stronger product using more parts from the 5600 series pedal. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? Price was a big consideration as the next step up is 3 times the cost. Again a belt drive would be nice. Also, a cam with a beater mount on the send pedal would allow a cabasa, shaker or other extra instrument. Sound How is the tone? The sheep skin beater I thought was too soft- so, I peeled it off the beater head and bought a felt pad from the hardware store that fit perfectly. Appearance Appearance It looks nice for now- check back with me after a few road gigs. Value Was this item an overall good value? Pound for pound it's about average.
You get what you pay for.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? With the right modifications it could be dependable. Straight out of the box it's very flimsy and there are quite a few parts that could easily break while playing. The "soft beater" is very flimsy as well. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? The best feature is the price compared to the Schlagwerk CP-100. A chain drive to pedal would be nice, a double sided felt/rubber beater, and a more secure way to mount the beater to the cajon. The plastic clamp on it is very flimsy and barely holds it in place when playing. Also this thing is VERY noisy when playing. Haven't tried oiling it down yet but I doubt it will help. Sound How is the tone? I use a Schlagwerk CP-404 Black Edition Cajon with a Heck Stick and I use wire brushes. The beater included works but not very well. With an extra purchase of a felt/rubber double sided beater the tone is greatly improved and sounds a lot more pronounced than using your hand or brush. General Your general opinion of this product. It's a good idea but needs some improvement. Tweaking it yourself will still put you with an overall price well under the Schlagwerk version. Value Was this item an overall good value? Can't beat the price. If you have the time and a little know how you can make this product well worth the price. With such a large list of drummers who use Gibralter you'd think more quality and testing would have been put into something with their name on it. Appearance Appearance It's shiny.
Good Idea but NOT road worthy!

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Fastener mount/clamp NOT durable & because of remote cable is not real sensitive. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? Sets up to your Cajon Sound How is the tone? The furry white, flat beater is not real durable so I recommend using a Cajon Beater from Morovian Builders, makers of BoxKit Cajon & BoxKit Cajon Jr. General Your general opinion of this product. Could and should be produced and sold for under $100 but with more durable attachment system! Schlagwerk makes a Cajon Kick Pedal system for 3 times the $ that is made for the road (gigs) but for 3 times the price! Value Was this item an overall good value? O.K. for home/studio but not durable enough for the road! Appearance Appearance O.K.
Good idea but not built road worthy!

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? No, Fastner clamp is flimsy! Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? Works for Cajon Drums and is 1/3RD the price of Schlagwerk's Cajon Kick Pedal but is too flimsy to take on the road for gigs! Sound How is the tone? Beater is not durable so I recommend buying a Cajon Beater from Morovian Builders maker of BoxKit Cajon and BoxKit Cajon Jr. General Your general opinion of this product. Good Idea and still for under $100 Gibralter could and should use a more durable fastner clamp system! Value Was this item an overall good value? If you don't have to make adjustments in order to pack and unpack for road gigs it's O.K. Appearance Appearance O.K. except Mount and Fastner Clamp look and is NOT durable!
