Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? If the silk screening on the back of the headstock were missing, you think it was made in the good ol' U.S.of A. I was eight when dad bought his C.G. (Im 40) I had never heard a guitar sound like that. I also had never seen him so impressed with one either. So I was hooked. After searching for a vintage Gretsch for years without any luck, I thought I was settling for a reissue. I was wrong. I tried many old ones (some of them had the binding crumbling in my lap while I played) I have a gretsch that looks as good as it sounds. The fit and finsh is as good as any guitar you'll find. Out of the box it is set-up to play without any adjustments. The only thing I have done is lower the strings (about 1 turn on the bridge) in the year since I got it. General Your general opinion of this product. I can't say enough good things about it. It plays as good as ES 335 for half the price!! Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Creamy!!! Filter trons are definatly different then 57' classics Not at all dark, but not too Hot. T.V. Jones Classics will be the only pick up better suited. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Flawless
Great, could use more sustain...
