This guitar truly feels high end. It’s made in the US. I own Gibson, Taylor, and Martin guitars, and this Guild fits in so perfectly. Extremely lightweight and made to have a natural feel. I could see the playability right out of the box, I am very particular so I always set up any new guitar I pick up. Bravo Guild. Was shipped perfectly as well. This is a perfect guitar for beginners and professionals. The sound is amazing.

I had an American Guild about 10 years ago and it was the best acoustic I’ve ever owned. I have wanted another one but never in a position to spend that much money. I finally decided to try this one and I’m blown away with the incredible tone and feel! It holds tune perfectly so far and I didn’t have to do anything to it at all right out of the box! The action is perfect for me too!

Product Review
I have been playing Guilds since 1973. I purchased a pair, F-50 and F-112 for stage use and still have them in my studio. I recently wanted to add a Dreadnaught Mahogany to my stable and was leaning towards the new offerings from Epi as I have the Dove (Maple) now. However, my budget was stretched by the cost of the Hummingbird copy. After listening to numerous reviews on the net I decided to try the D-240e. WOW! I have used many Chi, Korean and even Westerly Guilds which have come and gone from my stable, but this is a keeper. This is absolutely the best deal under $500 for anyone starting out or needing a specific style of instrument for stage and studio. You can immediately tell that this axe is constructed of well selected woods and the attention to detai on bindings, neck and frets is truly exceptional. Right out of box the straight edge is perfect and the action is “easy” with no buzz. Made to be Played.

This guitar exceeded all my expectations. Having owned a D-40 NT from 1973 in Guild's heyday, I wasn't expecting much, especially at this price point. This new model is well appointed. No dead spots on the fret board. Fit and finish are excellent. I have been a player since the late 60s' and have accumulated quite a large collection. This guitar will be my new go-to guitar. Sound is well-balanced and playability is exceptional. AMS delivered this guitr in record time, by the way. Kudos to all!

As a former working musician, I've owned and played many acoustic electrics and I will say, this one is one of my favorites! The guitar plays as good as it looks.
I didn't have to do anything to hit. It was flawless straight out of the box! However, I did find the controls a bit awkward as they are inside the sound hole. But it could be modified with the controls on the outside. A great sounding and well constructed guitar!

I love this guitar, it was between this and a similarly priced HPL Martin. I'm glad I chose this. It's become my regular player and I now choose this over my electrics when I want to noodle at home. Very well built. And a total banger for the price. Recommend 100%

What a great guitar. I’m in love with it. It arrived already ready to play.
Nice low tone well defined, you can hear all the harmonics when playing through the mid-high frequencies, very comfortable to play, nice definition when playing solo/melodies. Overall a great instrument and I’m very happy I found it here.

I've played 2 Gigs thusfar with this Guild. I enjoy it!
Many of my acoustic electrics have the input jack also used as a guitar strap holder and I hate that! cuz it tugs and wears on the input jack
no issue here as they are separate from one another
sounds really good plugged in.
my only knock is I wish it had a built in tuner
but I'll live!

After watching a number of acoustic guitar reviews, I chose this Guild D240E and I am really happy with it! I wanted something above an entry level guitar, but something affordable. The Guild brand name and the fact that it already has a fishman pickup, making it acoustic/electric was main reason that made me take a longer look and chose it. The guitar looks, feels and sounds great! Great value, great quality. I'll have this one a long time. You won't be disappointed.

I recently bought the D240e and I am simply amazed. I played lower end Taylors and Martins in my most recent search for a new acoustic and this guitar blows them out of the water! It has a very balanced tone, great volume, and it looks great. Mine was set up great out of the box. You will be hard pressed to find a better sounding guitar under 500.

Product Review
I received the guitar on Wednesday. Today is Friday. I love this guitar, as I do all of the Guild Guitars. I discovered Guild about 30 years ago. AS far as features go, one of the biggest ones for me is the arched back. This gives the guitar a lot more presence than other guitars as it brings out the mids much better. Guild is very underrated. Quality has always been best of the best. Craftsmanship is beautiful and play-ability is the best I've ever had in a guitar. This is the fourth Guild I have owned (I currently have 3 others)Each of these guitars has a role to play in my playing. This model is made in China, and before you brand snobs roll your eyes, the Chinese factories have stepped up their game and are putting out excellent quality guitars when they are designed by US manufacturers. Guild has been making high quality guitars for a very long time. Attention to detail in every aspect of the manufacturing. I don't really have any dislikes for this at all. As mentioned about, the tone that comes out of this guitar is sweet, sparkly, mellow and with lots of volume. The mahogany back and sides balance out well with sitka spruce top to make this a good all around tone box. Expectations met? I would say exceeded!

Got this as an alternative to the u.s version. Sound is tight and accurate. Neck feels smooth ached back really brings out low end. High are bright mids strong and loud. I like the vintage tuning machines.Gives the guitar a classic look and holds tune well. If you are looking for a less costly guild but not sacrifice build or playability you can't go wrong choosing this model.

Guild is one of the best Acoustic guitar brands available and this guitar is no exception. Amazing tone and note separation, great sustain and projection. Coming from a Taylor 114ce which is a bit more expensive, my opinion is that this guitar sounds and plays better. You really can't get a better guitar for the price and it's a Guild no less.

This is one of the best guitars I have owned that is made outside the U.S.A for an American guitar company, the Guild bowback design is one of the most resonate in a class by itself. This guitar came setup with a low action just the way I like it, bar chords, no problem. I took it to my Blues guitar lessons at the Academy and played solo scales to my professors backing chords and it was absolutely scary the perfect note bending and tones I achieved, if you are looking for the budget model this is it!

ThIs is a great guitar, especially at this low price! The fit and finish are perfect. The action from the factory was very playable, and the guitar is loud with a well balanced tone. The guitar is very light, in contrast to the original Westerly archbacks which were quite heavy. The neck is very slim, if you like a thin modern neck you will love this one. I don't think you'll find a better guitar at this price point.

Product Review
Great deal for the price. Has a nice clear voice, on the high end, but sweet sounding. Well worth the money. First one had discoloration from the pad inside the gig bag. Guild should make sure each is wrapped in poly wrap. AM replace it, new one better. Did not affect tone or playability, but visually, I could see it. Overall quality is very good. Nice mahogany wood, intonation good, playability great. Been playing for 40 years, this one stays out with my other more expensive guitars and gets played daily. Pickup works well, too, nice amplified tone. I see no drawbacks for the price. Guild is an excellent guitar, USA made or not. Gig bag is nice, but get a hard shell case to protect it if you travel. Nice archback.

This guitar is going to take over the world. I have had all the top name brands and I have to tell you guys and girls to give Guild a try. If you don't like it send it back (you wont)what do you have to lose...NOTHING, but you have a lot to gain owning the D-240E. This guitar is going to blow your mind. I have played for 35 years and currently own 12 guitars. I am not going to be unfair and name certain brands because I like to think I have a little class. The only names I am dropping today is GUILD. Your not going to find (in my opinion) a better guitar for the money. Any guitar player knows what "action" means and this guitar came set up perfectly. The only thing needed is a tuner or a good ear. The playability and speed of the neck is incredible! This guitar is sexy looking as well. Open tuners on the unmistakable headstock with bone nut and smooth neck will have you wondering how its possible to have this level of quality at such a low price point. This ax is sure to please!!

The action was set too low. I had to adjust the neck tension first thing. After backing the neck off 1/4 turn, I was quite pleased with the playability & sound of this guitar. Glad it came with the hex wrench. It doesn't have the tone of my Martin GPCPA4, but I could buy 4 of these for the price of my Martin. It's good enough to use it for a main guitar if you need to. I intend to keep it for a spare. I recommend a hard case.
