Classic Beatle tone!
Quality:
I think the quality is excellent. This is a well made instrument. I expect it to be dependable as I take good care of my guitars. No issues out of the box. Everything works perfectly.
Features:
It looks more expensive than the price. German Hofner tone for a few grand less!Buy a set of off white and gold teacup knobs on Ebay. Comes with black knobs. Teacups are correct knobs for this bass. Comes with a decent, locking hardshell case.
Sound:
Incredible tone. Think early Beatles McCartney sound. This is my second violin bass and the sound is rich, clear, warm and full. I use it in my classic rock/blues band and everyone loves it. As a recording bass, it's second to none, in my opinion. Records very well.
Playability and Feel:
Very light and narrow body. Fairly thin neck and very easy to play. Quite a difference going from a Jazz bass weight and size wise but easy to adapt to. Very light and comfortable for long playing standing up.You'll love it!
Tone:
Immediately lose the stock strings and buy a set of LaBella deep talking flatwound .39 strings. The bass comes alive with new flatwounds. Instant early Beatles McCartney tone!
Finish:
Excellent fit and finish.
Action:
Action was perfect out of the box.

Excellent Especially for the Money
Quality:
So far it seems to be well made.
Features:
The looks and styling are the best features, because lets face it, people buy these for the style first and foremost. If you want a Beatle Bass on a budget, this is a great deal.
Sound:
Round and McCartney-like.
Playability and Feel:
Plays like a Beatle Bass should. I've played real German Hofners, its a really nice entry level version for a great price with a case.
Finish:
The finish and paint was very impressive.
Action:
Very surprised, it plays perfectly right out of the box and was even relatively in tune as well.

Value for money - is a German made one really going to be a $1000 plus better ? I think not.
Features:
I added teacup knobs for that extra Macca vibe. It makes a real difference and, I felt, it was worth the extra $30
Sound:
If you want the classic woody Beatle thud this is the bass for you. It's actually very versatile. An original German made violin bass doesn't have a sound block and either does the Icon series. I think it makes it sound more like a violin bass than the contemporary series bass
Playability and Feel:
Thin, nice action and a joy to play.
Tone:
Full range of tones to suit any style.
Action:
Didn't have to alter a thing. Perfect in every way

A perfect replic (sound + looking)
Features:
This bass is great, if you consider it as a replic. The sound is great and it really sounds like Paul's bass. I had to change the knobs cause they are black, and Paul's bass has white knobs. I bought a pair of white knobs and now it's perfect.
Sound:
Well, no problem here. Great.
Playability and Feel:
Just perfect...
Tone:
Absolutely nothing to complain.

Unique Bass Sound that Stretches Your Creativity
Quality:
I was very impressed with the quality. I was afraid that at the low price the guitar would feel cheap and ready to break. It feels sturdy and has held up well over several gigs and road trips.
Features:
The features are pretty slim, but that is to be expected on a guitar replicating the simplicity of the original Hofner fiddle bass guitars.
Sound:
The sound is unique to the Hofner fiddle bass, and has a clean resonance from the hollow body. It will add its own special sound to any ensemble you play with.
Playability and Feel:
It takes some getting used to, because its such a slimmer body design that other guitars, but once you get used to it you will love it. Its very light weight and easy to move around with.
Tone:
The tone is very bright and works well for several types of music, indie-pop, country, and blues.
Finish:
This was my only major complaint. There were a few place at the joint of the neck and body that you could see some lines that mad it look unclean, but it would only be noticeable to the owner. Other wise the finish looked great and has held up well thus far.
Action:
The action is really very smooth. I think this a perfect guitar for a beginner and one that you wont soon out grow.
