What features would you add to this product if you could? The finish and the appearance is beautiful. I particularly like the small neck, making those wide bass notes easier to reach. Overall Your general opinion of this product. I am more than satisfied with the Hofner. I think this bass really exceeded my expectations. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Again, I have yet to change to the flat wound strings, but as is, the bass has a mellow sound, rather smooth Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I can't describe how happy I am with the finish on this instrument. It's gorgeous! For the price of this bass I don't see how it can be done. I am a woodworker also and I know what it takes to achieve a finish like this and I'm amazed.

Immediately lose the stock strings and buy a set of LaBella deep talking flatwound .39 strings.The bass comes alive with new flatwounds. Instant early Beatles McCartney tone!
