Product Review I’m a professional musician and I absolutely adore this guitar! It sounds and feels so great! It felt like home from the moment I first started playing on it. I couldn’t be more satisfied with both the AS73 and AMS. The guitar arrived in perfect condition, ready to play and I didn’t have to do any setup work whatsoever. That’s what I’ve come to expect from AMS. Top notch service. And that’s what they deliver. Thank you Owen and AMS for helping with my studio setup! It sounds amazing now. Couldn’t do it without you! Seriously.

Product Review Seriously. It's sooo easy to play. Perfect balance, sweet action, and the quick change stop bar is really convenient.Pickups sound incredible even thru just a small Peavey Vypyr. You don't even need to change the strings when it arrives because it comes with D'Addarios on it. Surprisingly the tuning machines actual hold once the strings are stretched properly. I bought $60 Gotoh tuners for it, but it doesn't need them. It's just ready to rock right outta the box. If you're looking at $400 guitars, this is the one. Oh, and it's also gorgeous.

Product Review Dark tone pups can worked around. Replace the strings, I replaced the terrible stock strings w elixir nano web lights, turn your bass to 3/4s the normal range and your mids and trebles up a 1/4 past what you would. You should be able to achieve a much cleaner and crisp, less fat and dark tone. I couldn’t afford to swap the pups yet, so this was my answer for the time being.

Product Review Back in 2013 I bought a Soloist from AMS that i still have and play for rock and jams ( no complaints I love it). I needed something to accommodate the direction I was going in.Looking at entry level semi-hollow body guitars and being a previous Ibanez owner ( GC )I decided on the AS73. The guitar that I got is spectacular! Fit and finish is superb. The difference between China and Indonesia is amazing.Out of the box this guitar has the lowest, cleanest, most accurate action I have ever owned. And I have had a Firebird and an SG, To be honest I did put on Gotoh Super Machine heads and a Tonepros bridge, but with the additions I would put this guitar against any $1000.00 or more "authenic" American guitar. Dont be fooled, Ibanez makes great guitars for the working musician at a price they can afford.

Product Review I've been beyond pleased with the AS73. I had a series of jazz gigs coming up, and I've never been able to get a satisfactory jazz tone out of my Fenders. After some research, I went with the AS73, as funds were limited and I was familiar with Ibanez quality. It's a great guitar, absolutely no issues with build, fit, and finish. I did replace the stock 10's with a set of DR pure nickel 11's, and it really opened the guitar up. I've gone beyond the jazz gigs and used it for recording projects wherever a humbucking sound was called for. If you want to add a different color to your tonal palette, Its hard to beat the AS73

Product Review Mine is an older one from 2009. As soon as I played it in the store I knew it was going home with me. I always wanted a 335 type guitar but didn't have the cash for a "real" ES335. I played it for about a year completely stock before I made the change to Gibson 57 Classic/57Classic Plus pickups. That really made a huge difference. Now I have a "poor man's" ES335 and I don't need to spend $2500.

Product Review As an experienced player, modder, and builder of guitars for almost 30 years I found this to be a great value out of the box. Pros; The frets were relatively smooth and level, the finish was spotless. The pickups worked well at full volume. This guitar is extremely resonant. It has great acoustic, and amplified sustain stock. The potiemeter taper us suprisingly good. Cons; The fretboard needed oiled. I also buffed the frets with planet waves polishing papers. Despite a smooth taper of the pots it gets muddy fast as you turn the volume down. A treble bleed or changing to 50's wiring is much needed. The pickups wile good, are far from great. I replaced the stock pickups with a Duncan Seth lover in the neck, and a Duncan Screamin demon in the bridge both with nickel covers. The pickups sound amazing from smooth jazz and R&B, to funk and Jam band, to classic and hard rock. The tail piece needed a burr filed off so that the strings could go through correctly. With the improved pickups I find it as pleasant to play as my JSM-10, or Gibson ES-335 dot. At some point I may upgrade the bridge and not. The tuning machines work great so I see no need for any change. One thing that surprised me was the size of the neck. It was much closer to a 50's neck profile then the older AS-73's. I really like it. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a great value, but wants high priced performance.

Product Review Pros: beautiful finish, build quality exceeds the price (pickups, controls, frets, etc.). Has that wonderful voicing that makes semi-hollow guitars so cool. Con: setup was mediocre. It was playable out of the box, but the neck was VERY straight (no relief at all at the 7th fret) and the bridge was high to make up for that. Needed a bit of work to get it correct (truss rod, bridge, intonation). That is why four stars instead of five. In all, though, I seriously love it.

Your general opinion of this product. I am thrilled with this guitar. Because it is made in China and has 'Ibanez' on the head stamp it costs about a quarter what it would if had a 'Gibson' logo on it. And IMO, it is every bit as good as far as quality, look, feel, and sound. Very well made. I've had it about two weeks so can't speak to the dependability too much, but I've played the heck out of it so far and I see no potential issues. Very playable for me. I have average sized hands and the neck is slightly thicker/wider than my Les Pauls but I actually find it easy and cleaner to play....more 'room for error' (which can come in handy for me!) much like my Telecaster. It's fast, smooth, and feels great. Though I've been playing for a couple decades this is actually my first non solid body electric guitar, so I don't have another semi to compare it to, but I love the tone. Nice all around melodic, singing tone. Very versatile with the 3 position selector switch, capable of nice biting leads too. Playing through my 100 watt Fender Frontman the pick ups have plenty of juice even on low volume levels. If I could only own one guitar, and it had to be this one, I could definitely live with that. Action was just about right for me out of the box. I'm not a pro, so I'm not super particular regarding the action, but felt good to me. Absolutely gorgeous. I rolled the dice and got the Tobacco Brown and I couldn't be happier. The pictures don't do it justice. It looks like a classic violin type finish, just the right amount of color, gloss and wood grain. Binding and trim is perfect. This guitar easily looks like a $1,000 to $1,500 baby, IMO. Very impressed, as is everyone else that has seen it. Only had it a couple weeks so we shall see. But I don't see any potential issues. We still have my son's first guitar I bought him, a red entry level Ibanez SG that's about 10 years old now...and still going strong. I still love my Gibson and Fender guitars too, but would not hesitate to buy an Ibanez again. Best I can tell the quality is right there with them.

yes, and Ibanez has always been dependable well for the first 30 days its great. I do not expect any problems. Your general opinion of this product. This a great guitar for the money. A real value in todays guitar market. Mine was shipped with a flawed tuner. The chrome was wrinkled but I just ordered a matching tuner on the net for five bucks. It is a beautiful instrument that is comfortable to play. It has what I call an older style neck. Not too wide and a pronounced "C" shape on the back. It fits the way I play with my thumb low on the neck. I never wrap my thumb over the top. The control are solid and many variations can be had by rolling off the tone pots. For most stuff I have to hold the pick ups back to 7 or 8. On 10 they are very hot. I have owned pre-amped guitars with less tone control. What ever you want from almost acoustic to sweet singing jazz chords to over-drivin blues tone. I don't play metal but it makes my fuzz setting wail also. Excellent except for the one tuner. Set up a little high for me with nines. I changed to tens and it just sings. I will reset the action some day but for now I can't quit playing it long enough to work on it.

Ibanez has been building great guitars since they began to appear on the market. I used to work in a music store and saw very few problems with any of their guitars. I have only had it for a short time but I don't see anny issues with it that would suggest it to be unreliable. Your general opinion of this product. I have tried several 335 coipes and done comparisons. This guitar is superb for the price! The neck is perfect for my hands and style. Very easy to play. The controls are the typical 335 set up which I have always liked. 2 tone and 2 volume. Some people say the pickups are not hot enough and so on. I did an A/B with a real 335 with a $2000.00 price tag. Same amp and settings. I could barely tell any difference in the tone or feel. In fact I liked the As-73 better! i f you are comparing to soem active electronics style guitar maybe it might not be as loud but for the music I play it's perfect. I ordered the sunburst color because it looks richer than the red in my opinion. The guitar played beautifully right out of the box.

Very well made. I have had no reliability issues in the year I have had it. I have had this guitar for one year now, and it is still like new. I clean it and treat the neck when I change the strings. Your general opinion of this product. I must admit that the appearance of this guitar is what first caught my attention. The transparent cherry finish is visually stunning. Due to semi-hollow body, not too heavy for it's size. I have medium sized hands, and the neck works well for me. The contols are easy to reach while playing. So much of the tone depends on the amplifier you are using. I play through a Vox Valvetronix, and I can get any sound I want out of this guitar. There is an obvious difference in tone between the pickups. Beautiful! No runs, no streaks, binding is perfect, wood grain shows through. I bought this guitar off the wall at a local shop, so it had probably had some setup. If not, the action was great!

Extremely well made. This guitar rivals others I've paid 3 or 4 times as much for. Just purchased so I can't say just now. But, the others I own continue to perform well after years of service. Your general opinion of this product. Extremely well made for the price. I have a couple of hollow body Ibanezes and they are all fine guitars. Everything I expected. Fast neck, low action. P'ups were a bit mellow for me and the style of music I play. But, I expected that. Nearly perfect. No issues but I did tweek it to my liking.

very good quality it's new to me Your general opinion of this product. i was waiting to try out the "expensive guitas" they were up 20ft in the guitar shop, while i was waiting for them to find a ladder and bring down the 2,000-3000 guitars, i picked up this baby and starting playing it, i was blown AWAY !!! I did try out the 2,000 -3,000 guitars and believe it or not - i said, put those things back up - this guitar sounds and PLAYS better ??? what ??? i said yup, wrap it up, i'm taking it home. I was shocked at the sound and action and haven't put it down since i got it ! fantastically fast ! neck was smooth easy to move around on. Only complaint is where they put the pickup toggle switch , i like it up high like the less pauls tone is great, warm AND bright - just what i like - a big difference in pickups,,not just "a little brighter" - i used it w/ distortion and it had JUST the sound i was looking for !! honestly who cares, (but it's nice) i would have bought it if it had pink panthers painted on it. amazing - honestly amazing

The finish is absolutely beautiful. The tuning machines stay in tune, knobs and switches seem to be good quality, pickups sound amazing, and the guitar plays very well. I've owned this guitar for 4 months now and have not had any issues whatsoever Your general opinion of this product. I've tried several other semi-hollowbody guitars priced under $1000, and the Ibanez Artcore was the clear winner! This guitar played much better than the others, and the pick-ups are great! Some of the others had a muddy tone, but the Ibanez pickups sparkle like Gibson Classic 57's. I don't think you'll find a better semi-hollowbody for under $2000 The guitar feels very sturdy and well-made. The guitar has a nice action, and plays very well. At a local music store, every Ibanez guitar that I tried played very well. Some of the others needed adjustments. Still, some set-up and adjustments may be needed. The Ibanez Artcore guitar sounds amazing. Many of the "budget" guitar pickups are noisy and sound muddy, but not the Ibanez. The pickups are hot, and sparkle like vintage Gibson Classic 57's. I opted for the dark cherry finish. It's a beautiful guitar. Every time I play it, I get complements! Low and smooth!

Appears to be well made. Binding was okay. Frets were well dressed. Maybe new tuners. Only had it for a week or so... Looks and feels solid. Your general opinion of this product. I've played Gibsons, Fenders, Epiphones, just about everything in the last 40 years. Ibanez makes a quality product at an affordable price. It's got a pretty fast neck and appears to be well balanced. Fairly light guitar, not as heavy as I was expecting. Tuners may need to be changed out. Tuner on the G string was slipping a little. Nice. The tone is very "woody" compared to my other guitars. The neck p-up does warm and mellow pretty good and doesn't get muddy at all through my Peavey Blues Classic... good for jazzy runs and chord melody stuff. The bridge p-up is bright and biting but not shrill and still retains that semi-acoustic tone that is perfect for blues/rock. Nice sustain, not as good as my maple topped, mahogany bodied, ebony fretboarded guitar, but very good. I thought I would have to change the p-ups, but I'll play around with it for awhile. So far no complaints. Beautiful looking sunburst finish. Smooth and polished with no runs, overspray, scratches, dings dents, etc. Paint was even. No blemishes that I could distinguish, although I buy guitars to play and cosmetics aren't really that important to me, so YMMV. Set up and action were perfect right out of the box. Tune and play. Set up with D'Addario strings which is what I use, although I may put a slightly heavier set on. These felt like 10's, but since I slashed the index finger of my left hand through the nail last week, I've been babying my fret hand a bit using very little vibrato or huge string bends so, hard to tell without really pushing the strings around a little.

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
I traded in an Epiphone Sheraton II for this, and I love it, although I've changed a few things on it.

FEATURES:
I changed the bridge to a roller bridge, put on a new tail piece, and witch hat knobs. The basic guitar is very nice, but I'm a pro, and I needed to soup it up.

EASE OF USE:
It plays like a dream, once I put lighter gauge strings on it, .009, .011, .015, .024, .030, .040. I also lowered the action via the truss rod, but it plays fast and smooth now. I also love how light it is, compared to a Gibson 335. I have a 330, which is hollow body, but I couldn't reach all the way to the top frets, which I can do easily with the AS73.

VALUE:

The quality of this (along with all the other Artcore models I've tried) is outstanding! Yes, those Chinese do know how to build a high quality instrument. Excellent fretwork, binding, and nut. The neck angle is correct, and the playability/set-up out of the box was 95%. I did have to do a little filing on the bridge saddles, but no biggie. The finish is applied nicely although it doesn't look as nice as a Gibs@n nitro, but again no biggie. Huge Bang for the Buck factor.

FEATURES:
Lets see here... a laminated Maple body (like a Gibs@n 335), a Mahogany neck with Rosewood board (like a Gibby 335), and equally as impressive build quality as some of the higher end makers. The only features I'd add are higher quality pots/pickups/switch. But come on it's a $299 dinger!

Not a single flaw in finish, neck joint, etc. The frets are tiny but this guitar practically plays itself. Tone for days on this thing. Pickups are just right..not too hot..not too mellow. Tuners are a little low in quality but useable. I can't believe the price on this guitar...you can't beat it! I would pay a little extra for a flamed top and pickguard.
