Product Rating Product Review It’s affordable -has a tone ring too!! I also ordered a Rare earth pickup for it and it will be here tomorrow -I believe this will be a good combination This is a light banjo and it’s very easy to play. If you do your own setup I would recommend using a drum dial and setting the head to 90

Product Review Love this banjo. Great tone and this thing stays in tune forever once you get it there. I have had a couple weeks between gigs and pulled this banjo out of the case to tune it up and it’s still in tune from last time I used it. Easy to setup. Installed a LR Baggs pickup on it and it sounds great. Not an expert banjo player by any means but learning. Good action and great looking with the fretboard inlay. If you’re on the fence buy it! You won’t be disappointed.

Not Good

Product Review Banjo had setup issues, rust on ring, paint missing from resonator, a stained head, and loose tuners. I would not recommend, get a Deering instead, better quality and setup.

Product Review I have been playing guitar for many many years, but with so many other Great guitarist, it’s easy to get lost and all of the choices. I wanted to stand out and be unique, so I decided to pick up the banjo to add another dimension to my playing. To my surprise, it’s actually a pretty easy instrument to learn the basics on. Something that I did not expect is that I would fall in love with playing it. The Ibanez B200 is the perfect mid range banjo. It’s an instrument that I can grow on and play for many years.

Product Review Mine did have some set up work. I do work on my own stuff if it’s simple. I adjusted the truss rod to lower the action and filed one fret to correct a buzz. The price and quality is well worth, in my opinion, buying this banjo. Honest review, hope it helps

Product Review This banjo was good straight out of the box. After a professional set up, it was top notch. Easier to play than my Goodtime.

Product Review I bought this banjo a few months ago and mostly let it set because the tuning was bad and B string sounded "bong-ie". I had to leave it alone until I had the time to do a setup on it. I did so tonight and here are some of the things I found: Neck was off center and strings out of line, nuts on both Coordinator Rods were loose and one rods hole in rim drilled out of line with the other (2 rods), head tension was not same around the head, neck was loose and needed raising and string height needed adjustment. I got it sounding good now with much work but you need to know how to do all that or have a good setup technician. It appeared to have been thrown together like factories do on cheaper instruments. It is a heavy banjo and I like it. Beautiful appearance and not bad sounding after setting up. It's a keeper.

Product Review First, the banjo. I've owned banjos by Alvarez, Washburn and Kay. Loved them all, but through necessity, they all have left my life. The Ibanez is an absolute steal for the price. The tone ring, while small, gives a big sound. The fretboard inlay is simply beautiful and the headstock gives the appearance of a banjo much more expensive. The planetary tuners are solid, and this is one of the few you'll find them on at this price. After minor setup, such as tightening the brackets and installing the bridge, it was set to play. Great sound, being vibrant and rich. Secondly, American Musical Supply's shipping is second to none. Having an instrument bounce around a carrier is not a good thing. Shipping was faster than I could have ever imagined and the box arrived in perfect condition.

Product Review Excellent banjo at an excellent price . I play guitar mostly but do pick around on the banjo some . This was definitely the ticket for me . Read reviews and seen mostly good . I did however need to do some set up on it to make it playable out of the box . Just typical things like tightening the head , placement of the bridge , new strings , very slight neck adjustment for my liking . Plays and sounds great now .

Product Review I understand that anytime you buy a new instrument there is a little setup involved. This was a bit more than a little though. The tension ring was on crooked and one of the nuts were stripped. I had a spare and replaced it and took the ring off and retightened it properly. The fourth string didn't fit in the bridge slot and kept popping out. Easy fix to cut the slot deeper. I had to adjust the neck to fix the buzz. I also had to move the arm rest down farther because the bottom nut was blocking the resonator back from being removed. It plays nice and I'm satisfied with it now that I fixed the problems.

Product Review The look of the banjo is very nice. But had a laundry list of problem after closer examination. The truss bar wasn't adjusted properly The frets were horrendous as far as the level was concerned. I removed the resonator and saw the tone ring was installed lopsided. The nuts on one of the coordiator rods was totally loose. All the nuts on the tuners were finger tight or less. The top wasn't adjuste evenly and was loose. I was determined to make it as good as possible. I completely tore it down and rebuilt it carefully. Leveled the frets (which took forever cause they were so bad). Adjusted the action, truss rod and put on new strings. Now its a really nice banjo. But I would not recommend one to someone who isn't capable of the work required to make it nice. Maybe I just got a bad one but I doubt it.
