Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? this is a quality product and produced well, unlike the picture. The bridge straps were misaligned on the picture but on my instrument they are aligned perfectly with the neck. Check it out! The attention to detail is amazing and everything it tight fitting. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? I really like the look but what is lacking is a midrange switch to add some mid "punch" for slapping without having to turn a pot to boost the mids. Sound How is its Tone? Whatever you want is there with just the turn of a knob. I like the detents for balanced tone. As I mentioned earlier, I would like to see a mid boost switch, but I can get the tone I want. Awesome room shaking lows to tight thin highs and everything in between is there for the asking. MK 2's are great and the pre-amp eq is good. Direct is awesome for recording and I don't need my Fishman eq, just the compressor. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? I found I needed to shorten the strap and play the bass a bit higher, but in doing so, I tend to be one with it now. It's a large instrument and not for the faint of heart or the weak kneed. it's a bit heavy but tighten up your closeness with the instrument and you'll find it to be wonderful to play. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? yes.....I have found this sound to be clear and smooth. The low B is clean and bright with a smooth low tone. Not boomy. I find that the low G played on the B string is a bit darker sounding than the same G played on the E string. From there on up all the tones are the same. I had everything set at mid balance for that observation. That is the only flaw I found with this bass. Compared with a bass costing 4 times more with the same pickups this bass is worth the price and is a great value. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? OMG. It's perfect. Not a flaw and the burl amber finish is awesome. The pics don't do it justice. It looks a bit yellowy in the pics but is a rich amber in reality. Action How was the action out of the box? Having played many 6 string prior to purchasing this one, the action was a bit high but still nice. Some adjustments need to be made eventually, but out of the box, really smooth but not buttery,,,, yet!

They both are amazing quality for an amazing price Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? Haven't played any 6-string basses for more than a few minutes at various music stores. The neck has got to be full width and not just like other 6 strings squeezed onto a 5-string neck. It's friggin' huge - like you could land airplanes on this thing. It's made bass playing exciting again, figuring out the whole up and down "playing in the box" instead of running left and right on the neck Sound How is its Tone? I'm still playing the strings that came on the bass and they sound fine for getting use to playing. Will put some new ones on here shortly. Excellant low end tone - nice and phat. As I mentioned I play a Modulus which has a more agressive tone which I really dig. Will have to work on the on board eq to get a similar sound on this 6. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Feels great. Will take some time getting your hands use to the feel. Right now its effortless to play my 5 ;'cause I've been doing it for more than 15 yrs. It's easy to lose your place/string when playing the 6. It'll take time but I can only imagine the playing options once I figure this thing out Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? as above - nice phat sound. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The bass is flat out gorgeous. Lots of ooohs and ahhhs whenever anybody sees it. Can't wait to get more proficient on it so I can take her to gigs. Still rockin my Modulus 5 in the meantime Action How was the action out of the box? Action was great out of the box. I like it typically a little higher so I raised it up a few days later but from the get go she played nice with little to no fret buzz

Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? Expesive boutiqe looking bass without the 3000 - 4000 $ price tag. Sound How is its Tone? good all around tone. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? I play mostly metal style music with some slap and this bass can put it out. Neck is thin and pretty fast. A medium wieght bass. feels good to me hanging around my neck! Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? can dial in deep low bass, or nice mid tones or a real nice higher tone on the c string. love it !!!!!!! Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Finish was great. No runs or blemishes. Action How was the action out of the box? Got the Bass the day of a major show from UPS. Did not have to adjust the action at all ! Could not believe it !

I can't find any reason why I would be pay $5K for a boutique bass when this one is constructed in exactly the same fashion as an MTD type bass. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? To me, this bass has just the right amount of features. Bartolini bickups and pre-amp. 5 knobs, simplicity works. Sound How is its Tone? Beautiful tone! Long sustain, warm sound, perfect for me. I'm more of a jazz/funk/rock player and it's perfect. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Feels great. I love a flat neck as opposed to rounded. Controls are right where I expect them. Very easy to jump from 5 string to 6. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Warm and sustain, with plenty of pop when you slap it. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? It's absolutely beautiful and stunning to look at. Action How was the action out of the box? Action was good, C string was a little too low. I've always set my action pretty high, but have decided to get used to lower action as my hands get older (ahem). The C does buzz a little, but it was easy to raise, the tool for the bridge was supplied with the bass.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Made well indeed. I've played off of higher end basses and this one is up there with them. I never thought that Ibanez would do it with this bad boy. It did! Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? Best features would have to be the fast neck on this 6 string. I would also have to say the MK2's. I'm not a huge Bartolini fan, but I've been won over with these MK2's. Sound How is its Tone? Tone is good. Very nice growl. Didn' have to adjust too much on my amp. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? It was light as a feather with a very fast neck! The controls are right where they should be, not in the way, not far away. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The tone is bright with a nice growl at the bottom. The MK2's on this baby topped it off with their nice, thick, growling driven sound. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Fabulous! It was art! Simply art. Action How was the action out of the box? Superb! I've had many of my electric guitars professionally set up, and this one was by far the best! The best right out of the box!

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? The bass is dependable and made pretty well for the price and it looks expensive.At least 2 or 3k. Features What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could? There are a few high end features that I like the mono rail bridge and the neutrik locking jack and the black chrome hardware. Sound How is its Tone? The tone is mid-range but you have to adjust the pickups to balance out the sound and use the EQ to get your sound the three band 18 volt pre-amp gives you some good flexibility.I had my tech add a active/passive push pull pot to my volume nob that's the only modification that was made on the bass. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The feel of the body is heavy the neck may be a bit chunky for those who are use to slim fast necks. But I had no problem getting around the neck with a great set of string and good action. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The tone is dark and smooth if you are a slapper this is not the bass for you the pickups are mellow mid sounding. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The paint job is great and clean with a heavy clear finish. Action How was the action out of the box? The action out the box was high but far you always have to tweak an instrument to the way you like.
