General What is your overall opinion of this product? This by far the Destroyer to get, regardless of country it was made. My first guitar was a DT155 in the same color, I had to give this guitar a try. I play Ibanez, mostly MIJ, so I was suprised on how well this played. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? I was in shock with how well it looked, played and felt. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? This is one of the best necks I have held in my hands. The 12" radius is great. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? The Mahogany set neck and body sustains and has a lot of tone. The rosewood is warm, I am moore of a Seymour Duncan Player, but the sound is still worth it. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? few finish scuffs that I can live with. Other than that it is a great finish, perfect for anyone who wants to clone a DT555 that Phil Collen played. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? Actual yes, I normally pay between $1000-$1600 for MIJ and USA guitars. This was worth the $700. Playability How was the action out of the box? Action was perfect, intonation needs to be set.
An excellant reissue

General What is your overall opinion of this product? This is the best version of the Destroyer since the Phil Collen model with a Kahler. The bridge and tailpiece are leaps ahead of Gibsons and designed very well. The neck profile is my favorite and the jumbo frets are well dressed. My had a few finish flaws but ut sounded so alive I couldn't return it.The Dimarzio pickups are among the best I have heard. I have many guitars with Duncans and Dimarzios and this guitar has the best tone of any. It has incredible richness and bright sustain that is very alive. The bass is articulate and the highs are bright and full. The guitar needed a small truss rod adjustment as I like a very flat neck. The disappointment was in the selector switch and pots. I would have perferred large pots and a swtchcraft selector switch.Overall the quality is very good but it could have been a little better. However it does sound like a very expensive guitar and not a Chinese assymbley line model. It feels like a fine well crafted guitar. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? A few minor finish flaws. The fretboard is exceptionally done as well as excellantly dressed jumbo frets.Hardware is first rate. Everything is fitted well. The bridge and tailpiece were impressive. The nut was one of the best I have seen.Overall the guitar was one of the best values I have ever purchased. I was very impressed by the tone. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? the guitar is a bit lighter than I expected. The neck has a very good feel to me, I have thin long fingers and I wear a size large glove. The jumbo frets make fast palying very easy. I switched the volume pot placement as I like the bridge control closer to my picking hand. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? The guitar has that alive sound to it. It is very reasonant and responsive. The bass is articulate and the highs are rich and full without being skinny. Very balanced tone. Actually one of the best sounding guitars I have ever owned. Only my American Hamer Blitz would surpass it. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The gloss black paint was good ,not great. There were a few flaws on the lower horn where it appeared some clear had bubbled and broke away.Polishing marks were very evident. had the guitar not sounded so very good I would have returned it for another. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? I expected a bit better components as far as switches and pots. But the sound and playability more than make up for it. The guitars tone more than makes it a great value as it sounds like a 2k+ guitar. Playability How was the action out of the box? Action was ok out of the box but two turns of the truss rod make it better. The truss rod is loose for transport. Once it was setup properly it plays fantastic!
