This guitar sounds great and plays like a champ. I tune it up to B rather than A as suggested. Feels a bit better to me.

I was in the market for a travel guitar that didn't suck or wasn't a gimmick and having found very little info on this particular model I took a chance and hoped by the brand that i wouldn't be disappointed and Ibanez yet again succeeded my expectations. This thing is beyond fun to play.

Wood is of course beautiful. Even the neck is really beautiful. OK...this thing is beyond sweetness...I admit it takes a new approach to right hand technique...forget about a pick if you want this beauty to resonate and sing...I have this old nylon classical from '84...if you project a sound wave from your face in it's general direction it will resonate and sing back to you...this little f-cker does the same thing...everything has a resonant frequency at which it will "sing"....could be a bldg., could be a bridge...even a crystal...whatever... but wooden acoustical instruments are engineered to be extremely responsive to energetic stimulation. Anyway enough drivel...As far as an instrument that you can take any where any time with minimal effort or concern...or, my favorite!..sit in any chair in the house and play easily and comfortably, even the old lounge chair...this little beauty is the perfect answer and solution...Thanks again Ibanez! P.S.- Love the abalone inlay.......

For me, it does what was expected. A really mini guitar (tenor uke size) with 6 steel strings (unusual!) that sounds like a uke/mandolin combo, yet plays same chords as an acoustic guitar with a capo on the 5th fret (thus tuning is ADGCEA) or played as a steel string uke on the GCEA strings. Does both and travels so very well.
