O.K. Let me start off by saying that I bought one of the only 500 made purple Satriani half stacks in 2012 and have been wanting this guitar to go with it since its introduction !! I was afraid that the neck was going to be way too small because I prefer the necks of my 56, 57, 58, and 59 re-issue Les Pauls. AMS had 0 percent financing so I finally pulled the trigger !!
Man, when I opened the case I was blown away by the beauty inside !
When I strapped it on and plugged it in, Wow !! The neck is smaller, but comfortable. The Dimarzio pickups are a little hotter that I'm used to but can nail classic rock tones that I prefer ! I am gonna install a Satchur8 pickup in the bridge to make it a metal machine !!
If your on the fence, pull the trigger !! You won't be disappointed !!

Purchased as a replacement for a JS Custom stolen a couple of decades ago. Phenomenal instrument and an improvement over the original. Still enjoy playing the RG and S models but, this has more of a modernized vintage strat feel with the medium frets. Love the new Satch Track and Mo Joe Dimarzio's. With the coil tap and high pass filter there's virtually no sound unachievable. Prestige treated frets play like glass and the new lightweight bar is great. Thanks AMS for over 30 years of quality service. Guitar arrived promptly and 'almost' in tune ??.

I've had this guitar for a few months now and I absolutely love it. Years ago I sold my JS 1000, and I have always missed that guitar, this has proven to be a worthy replacement. The tone is great, controls are well thought out, and the neck is blisteringly fast. I love the 24 fret neck and the subtle changes to the body over my old 1000.
