Lots of potential in this axe
Quality:
Very well made, Team J. Craft so... I never expect any less from them. Case is also very conveniently designed.
Sound:
Here we go... REPLACE THE PICKUPS! "Nough said.
Reliability:
Very sturdy axe, a bit heavier than the S series, but that is to be expected.
Overall:
Alright look, it's a great guitar for wanting to define your own sound, but not a flawless guitar.
Playability and Feel:
The neck is makes this guitar superior. Wizard Prestige runs circles around the Wizard II. Shred-friendly design, with an Edge PRo, which ALSO runs circles around the Edge III.
Tone:
As I said before, it is very difficult to rate the sound when the stock pickups are horrid! But once you replace those with some DiMarzios, lets say,
Finish:
Mine was black, so I wasn't expecting it to be glowing with neon lights or any of that. Smooth finish though, I'll put on my own knicks and knacks in the looks.
Action:
You may need to re-tune the system right out of the box, which took me about 20-30 min, (floating bridges are always h*ll)

Oozes quality!
Quality:
Quality is the first thing that hits you when you pick one of these up. The neck is smooth and consistant, the frets are very well dressed, even the knobs on mine have a solid rubber grip that hides the set screw. The edge zero bridge is outstanding and pulls back farther than you need making tremolo tricks even more fun.
Sound:
The tone is excellent. While working on and older JEM that belongs to a friend, is really hit me that this one is 10 times more responsive with much better harmonics. I have n o problem with the pickups other than a desire for a little more bite in the bridge pup.
Reliability:
After 2 weeks with this one I can't comment, but every Ibanez I've owned has been rock solid.
Overall:
After owning a total of 24 guitars in the last 5 years, this is the best one yet. After my very good experience with my RGT42DXFM I didn't think anything could top it. I've paid much more for Gibsons and American Fenders but the Ibanez was the better guitar. I wanted a similar guitar for a different tuning so I got this one. It is now my main axe. I didn't think my neck-thru could be topped but is was. This guitar feels so smooth in your hands, it's hard to believe it's new.
Playability and Feel:
This is a very fast guitar. It almost feels lubed. It's also reasonably light.
Tone:
I'm pretty happy with the tonal range the 5-way selector gives me. I can do really bluesy stuff and screaming metal with great response. I might change the bridge pickup but I might not.
Finish:
I got the Liquid Metal Red and it is stellar. I like the flat finishes and this one looks killer.
Action:
Action on delivery only needed minor adjustment to taste. Action is subjective to personal taste anyway and any devout guitar player should know how to set it accordingly. I did not have to adjust the truss rod so that was a plus.

Best of all Guitars
Quality:
Best quality.
Sound:
The tone is perfect out of the box. I have nothing bad to pick on.
Reliability:
Unless you intend to damage it, this axe will last forever.
Overall:
This is the best guitar I have had among other brands.
Playability and Feel:
It is very easy to play with. I love the neck, body, and control system. Everything is designed for perfection.
Tone:
Perfect tone as long as you know how it works with your effects and amp set up.
Finish:
Even though I bought as a scratch and dent condition, but I couldn't find one scratch on mine. I looked as if no one touch it before. I am happy to pay for lower price with mint condition.
Action:
Mine has very low action, which is my preference. I don't play very rough music.

Intermediate
