I consider the quality to be very good -- especially considering the price. The neck joint is nice & tight, the finish is decent, the playability is good, and the USA-made pickups are very good. It appears to be solidly constructed and I have every reason to believe that it will hold up very well. I have another Ibanez that I bought new 20 years ago, and it's still going strong. This guitar is made in Indonesia, and I bought it for use as a good "work horse", not expecting anything great, but something usable. I was pleased to discover that it was exactly what I needed. The neck is very comfortable -- not too thick or too thin. I also like the satin finish on the back. The controls are simple (1-Volume, 1-Tone, 1 3-way switch) and easy to reach. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? I would consider the tone to be "balanced". Not overly bright, and not muddy. The neck pickup sounds ordinary, but the bridge pickup absolutely screams, and WITHOUT any squealing! I like the passive EMG pickups, as I hate having batteries in my guitars.
