Product Rating What is your opinion of this product? Ibanez have been a mixed bag over the last fifteen years or so. While the Prestige Line has always been top notch, and the introduction of the Premium line has met with success, the standard RG line has been lacking. At least, lacking in comparison to the MIK models of the mid-to-late Nineties. I'd been wanting an RG for some time in this particular color scheme (white w/ black pickguard and maple fretboard). There was a Prestige model a while back, but I simply couldn't afford it. Having not purchased or owned an Ibby in a LONG time, I took a leap of faith on this and it paid off in spades!! Gone is the terrible Edge III tremolo, and has been replaced with a more "Floyd" licensed tremolo. What's better is that it holds tune VERY well. Also gone are the shrill INF pickups. The Quantums are not quite as hot, but they certainly show a fair amount of bite and have a lot more clarity. Loving Ibanez for the first time in a LONG time!!

Not as great as I hoped.

What is your opinion of this product? Tremolo was still slightly uneven, had to level up the posts on that. There was a nice debacle with AMS sales dept. But that aside, this is the first ever guitar I've had, whose frets stuck out past the sides of the neck and sliced my thumb to pieces. I had to buy a fret bevel file to make this playable. I don't know what kind of rookie "Tech" would do and then leave a fret job this way?!
