Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Overall, great comfortable guitar. Plays awesome. Feels solid, light and looks sweet. A lot of thought was put into the playability of this guitar and you can feel that as you continue to play it. There are minor cosmetic flaws, but every company has there lemons from time to time. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Seems to be good so far, I've been playing it for about a month now and its already experienced many band practices and a live show, its been very reliable, the bridge does an incredible job of staying in tune, very easy to maintain. General Your general opinion of this product. Overall, this is a great playing gutiar once it has been set up to your personal preferences(as with many guitars) It looks awesome, plays awesome, feels awesome. Cosmetically, there are some areas of the guitar I feel more attention could have been paid. For $1,600 I expected this to have less flaws than some of the cheaper guitars I have owned, but hey - they make it unique and I know its mine that way; I've grown to love it. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Very light and comfortable, it is easily the most comfortable guitar I've ever played. The large cuts in the lower horn of the body make it effortless to reach the 24th fret on every string. The neck is very thin and smooth, a trademark of Ibanez. The pickup selector switch is right under the neck pickup, making it very comfortable to switch between lead and rhythm parts. Short range between switch position too which is nice. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Not bad for stock Ibanez pickups, but it's likely I'll be replacing them in the near future. The stock pickups have crunch on the bottom end, warm smooth mids when your amp settings are dialed. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The finish of the body was nice, but things like the frets and fretboard were a poor finish. The sides of the frets where they are recessed into the fretboard are visible in some spots and finished in others, and what looks like a paint brush fixed some cosmetic flaws but is still very visible. Felt like things like this shouldn't be a problem when paying $1,600 for a new guitar. Also, the volume knob cap fell off several times the first time I used it band practice. Again, for the price I felt I shouldn't have had any small issues like this, but again - it was a small issue and was just a matter of tightening it. Action How was the action out of the box? The action out of the box was very high. After a couple hours of setting it up it felt much more comfortable. Some things that needed to be adjusted after the action was pickup height and spring tension on the bridge. The Edge Zero easy adjuster made this much less time consuming than with traditional FR designs.
One Great Guitar..

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Yes, this Ibanez build to play and last... Reliability How has it stood up over time? Just got it so time will tell. But it feel like a gentle tank, ready to play. General Your general opinion of this product. This is a great axe. I know it was build for metal but for me it is a true versatile instrument. I play a mixture of styles metal, jazz fusion, progressive, ambient and works well for in all. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The action is amazing, easy to setup. Not to flat fingerboard, just enough, but fast and smooth. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? It depends on the tone your use. You can easily go from dark to smooth. The pickups are nice, no need to change them. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Get flat finish, no fancy design or woods, easy to clean. great for road gigs. Action How was the action out of the box? Pretty nice out the box, my action is super low so I had to set it up for my style, setup was a snap.
