Perfect Metal Axe!
Quality:
The product is very well made and seems very durable and reliable. Very sturdy feeling axe even with the thin body.
Sound:
I am very pleased with the tone. Overall this guitar can get any sound you want. The pick ups can be driven from a soulfull jazzy sound to a brutal metal sound with some very easy minipulation of your AMP and or pedals. Sustain on lower frets is a little weak but not an issue like some have said.
Reliability:
I've only had the guitar for a short period of time but appears to be able to take a beating.
Overall:
The Ibanez S5470 is a really good choice for intermediate to advanced guitar players wanting more from their instruments then what a mid-level guitar can offer.
Playability and Feel:
The neck is super fast and the body is heavy for such a thin axe. Makes you feel like you have a really high quality guitar in your hands. Love the rubber padding volume and tone knobs!
Tone:
The tone is dark and full. The resonance is like a full thick body guitar.
Finish:
I have the Black Sunburst or TKS and it's a sight to behold. Coat looks full thick and glossy.
Action:
The action was set up nicely out of the box. Only a few minor adjustments were needed.
Skill Level:
Intermediate

Best guitar in my huge collection
Quality:
Highest quality imaginable. Perfect fit and finish. I have seen some really dodgy things come from Gibson at four times the price. Ibanez is amazing. Their $200 guitar are just as well made as their $200 in the quality department.
Sound:
Surprising good overall tone. I expected it to be a great shredder, but I play jazz and jazz fusion and it really holds up well. It won't replace my huge jazz boxes, but it is more versatile than you would think.
Reliability:
Seems rock solid, but I baby my guitars so I can't really say.
Overall:
This is an outstanding instrument worth twice the price. I've owned well over one hundred guitars over the years and Ibanez has become my favorite brand. The only guitar that I've ever played that was close to this one was a Jackson Soloist and it just wasn't as nice, even at a MUCH higher price point. Ibanez seems to always deliver in the "bang for the buck" category. Today I'm taking delivery of a $400 Ibanez and I am sure that it will also be an awesome instrument.
Playability and Feel:
Light as feather and thin as a rail. I really thought that it would take some time to adjust to playing such a thin guitar, but it was amazingly comfortable the minute I picked it up. I purchased this guitar at about the same time as my new Charvel SoCal and I have to say that the feel and playability of the Ibanez put the Charvel to shame - and I LOVE Charvel!
Tone:
Obviously best for metal and shred, but as I said earlier - great for most other styles. I'll stick to my Tele for country, but other than that, the sky is the limit.
Finish:
Outstanding. I have the black sunburst and the photos do not do it justice at all. The finish is high-gloss, which I wasn't sure about when I ordered it. It is just beautiful.
Action:
Perfect. I am always amazed when I take an Ibanez out of the box for the first time. The setup is always perfect and the guitars are almost always in perfect tune! I can't even say that about any of my Fender Custom Shop guitars.

TOP 3 OF THE BEST GUITARS I'VE PLAYED
Quality:
The construction of this fabulous guitar is what I would say the strongest feature. The thin body is also very nice.
Reliability:
I've only had for a month. But it seems to be holding up well.
Overall:
It's definitely one of the best guitars I've played. It's hard to find something negative about it. The tremolo doesn't quite stay totally in tune though. But I asked my guitar tech and he said that after a good setup it should be fine. It really is a great tremolo though. The instruction manual is also very nice. Beautiful case too.
Playability and Feel:
It's got a very fast neck. It's totally made for shredding (which I love). The bridge holds the strings in really nicely. Tremolo picking is better than ever before. I never though a nice bridge could make such a difference.
Tone:
Really great pickups. The tone is very smooth.
Finish:
The finish is gorgeous. They use beautiful wood as well. It's a beautiful looking instrument. I got the tobacco sunburst type one.
Action:
The action is very good right out of the box. Of course though, with a nice setup it could be better. But still... wow.
