Owned for only two weeks but I've had great luck with Ibanez quality in the past.

Neck-thru is great. It allows the notes to "bloom" differently than a bolt-on. Laminate neck is VERY stable and the sound of the electronics/guitar combined is excellent and surprisingly versatile.
Sound
How is its Tone?
I'm surprised by the tone! Much more versatile than I expected from two humbuckers.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Feels great. A little on the heavier side and the neck is a bit "beefier" than an SR but still on the thin and playable without being a twig side of things. Controls are functional and located properly.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The pups are hot but not a real limitation. The active electronics let you achieve a wide range of useful tones from a real nasty growl to a very "woody" and muted bass sound. I bought it online without playing (usually a mistake) and was very pleased with the sound.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
paint is 4/5. Minor finish flaws here and there but nothing terrible.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action was way too low; notes completely muted but it did travel a long distance in the dead of winter.

Ibanez is a pretty dependable company, and they sure do not let down with this bass. It's a finely crafted instrument.

Ibanez isn't famous for making their neck through instruments. This is actually the very first Ibanez neck through I have ever played and I have to say, it feels great.

Feels very fast. Ibanez necks are some of the best in the music business, and the neck on this is what you can expect out of an Ibanez neck. Very comfortable to play on.
The controls are positioned perfectly. You do not have to go out of your way to adjust it, but it does not get in the way during play

The awesome part about these pick ups are that the controls can adjust it to any sound you want!

This Bass has very solid feel to it. The bridge is heavy duty and easy to adjust. The tuners feel tight. No scratchy Vol. or Tone pots. Elixer strings, love them or hate them, they are quality strings. Fret work very nice and smooth. One of the few guitars I've bought that when first plugged in, No Hum or Buzzing of any kind, Absolutely quiet. Strap buttons hold tight. I've had it a short time but it should be a rock.

The neck and comfortable body are this Bass best features. The quiet hum and buzz free electronics are also great. A tool free battery compartment is the only complaint I have about this Bass.
Sound
How is its Tone?
It's hum and buzz free. It has treble boost/cut and bass boost/cut, no mid range control. But with the balance control you can some what tweak the mid range. You can get many different versatile sounds out of this Bass.
Playability and Feel

The neck feels really fast and smooth. The Body contour feels comfortable and it balances well sitting or standing. It is heavier than an SR, but lighter than a BTB. The controls are easy to tweak and the higher frets easy to access.

With the controls in the middle positions it has a somewhat dark but smooth tone. Unlike other reviews I didn't hear the harshness. It has a fairly thick put not overly hot tone. It is very tweak-able but has its own unique tone defiantly on the fat side. If you want an authentic P or J bass sound buy one of those. If you want a 24 fret high quality Bass with a fast finger board that can do Metal to Jazz, for the price this Bass can't be beat.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The finish was flawless. Really nice Quilted top and headstock. The Trans Gray color has a greenish tint to it. The dark chrome platting on the hardware looks like high quality.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action out of the box was a bit high for my taste. But after letting it settle in to it's new environment I set it up to my liking which is pretty straight neck, low action and it plays beautifully, no fret buzz anywhere on the neck with great intonation all the way down the neck.

The pickups and active EQ really give this bass great tone range, great all around sound for all music.

The sound out of this insterment is great! No hum or buzz, grounded perfect.

The neck has great action for fast playing, I am use to a wider neck for slap pop but I adjusted to it.

This bass has an awsome look to it, especially the back with its thru-neck design and exotic wood color really shows the quality of this bass. (pictures do it no justice)
