Monster guitar with lame pickups
Quality:
Awsome. Perfect. Not to light or heavy. plays like a dream. You may have to relocate the strap pegs for it to be balanced though.
Sound:
Its amazing. I replaced the Dimarzios with emg passives and the tone increased ten fold. The Dimarzios were just flat. No body or crisp attack was in them at all.
Reliability:
No probs. Not even one. the tremolo is rock solid every time. Stays in tune like a champ, even with changing temperatures.
Overall:
This guitar shreds like no other guitar ive ever played before. Its fast, clean, picks easily. Awsome. The pickups on the other hand are a garbled mess.
Playability and Feel:
Its an amazing combo of all the great elements of metal. It chugs hard, but still has enough smoothness for fast scale work
Tone:
at first, absolute crap. After upgrade, amazing. Every harmonic squeal and pinch was dead on.
Finish:
I dont have to answer this. Look at it. Bada$$
Action:
Fast. Be careful you dont catch the fretboard on fire.

Pretty good for passive pups. Metal sounding for sure.
Reliability:
Just got it today but seems really solid.
Overall:
Awesome guitar. Not too big and not too small. Just right !!!!
Playability and Feel:
I love the neck although it is slower than I thought it would be. Not as fast as my Jackson RR24 but not too bad for a $700 guitar. Controls are placed fine for me. I can actually get lower action than on my jackson Guitar and I love the access to the upper frets. I can reach the 24th fret with pure ease.
Tone:
Pickups were good. Very chunky and metal for sure. Not as high output as my Seymour Duncan Blackout but very good for passive pups. I like them very much and am happy with them.
Finish:
It's really awesome. It changes color from brown to green to red etc...
Action:
Low.... Awesome.

Metal Mayhem And.....Jazz??????
Quality:
As stated before, excellent quality! The guitar is solid and well made and all of the hardware is top notch. It is very pointy though, so be careful that you don't bang into anything or it may get chipped.
Sound:
Well, if it doesn't have batteries it doesn't do metal, right? WRONG!!!! I have several other guitars with EMG's and SD Blackouts in them and this one beats them hands down for range of tone and clarity. Don't get me wrong. I like those other pickups but they don't have the organic feel of the D Activators. It's a common misbelief that active pickups are higher output. No, they're not. They just have a VERY tightly focused midrange to them. Larry Dimarzio and Steve Blucher nailed that with these P/U's. Combine that with a mahagony body for warmth and a neck thru maple/walnut neck for the highs and the sustain and you've got an extremely well balanced tone that allows for plenty of clarity in even the highest gain situations. But they also do cleans better than most P/U's I've heard. I get great sounding clean arpeggios on the neck and middle position P/U's and add a little beakup on a clean amp and you've got sweet sweet blues tones.
Reliability:
Well, it's made in Indonesia but the quality and craftsmanship on all except my first one were flawless. People knock these guitars because of where they're made, but I think you'd be cheating yourself if that's the sole reason you have for not buying this guitar
Overall:
Awesome! I own five of these beasts in various tunings and configurations. The best guitar I've ever owned, at least for what I play and the tone and vibe I chase.
Playability and Feel:
This guitar is surprisingly light for it's shape and size. The body sits well when sitting down and playing on either knee. The Wizard II neck is unbelievably fast. I'm a natural lefty who just happens to play right handed guitars so I need all the help I can get and with this guitar my fingers just fly like on no other. The Edge III is solid and stays in tune (people, people, people! Please learn how to setup and tune a floating style locking trem before bashing these!).
Tone:
This is a well thought out package. The mahogany-maple-walnut-neckthru construction and the DiMarzios produce any and all tones for almost any musical situation. But let's face it, you ain't gonna see Pat Metheny or George Benson with one of these on stage, although they could. It's meant for METAL and it's meant for SHREDDING and it does those oh-so-well!
Finish:
Really cool finishes on the red and red chameleons. The glitter rust FX model is pretty sweet too. Can't vouch for the gray chameleon finish on the XPT707FX 7-string because I don't have one...YET!
Action:
I always reset my guitars when I get them, so I don't really care how the action is out of the box. And besides, they've probably been sitting in different warehouses in different climates before they reach your doorstep. If you're spending this much money for a guitar then yo SHOULD be at a level where you know how to do your own setups anyways. If not, then take it to a qualified luthier and let him show you!
