Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Well made & durable Reliability How has it stood up over time? Excellent, no issues Overall Your general opinion of this product. Awesome noise reduction. Works like a charm, very transparent. I have a crazy pedal board and use pedals before my amp and in the loop and this pedal stops any noise. My only issue is that if the threshold is set too high, it cuts off my delay & reverb (They are in the loop). But, for songs I need them in, I shut it off....easy! Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? N/A Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? No tone coloration whatsoever. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Sweet! I love me some chrome! Action How was the action out of the box? N/A

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? the company has a reputation for quality. it certainly is solid and heavy. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Have had it 4 months, so far so good. Overall Your general opinion of this product. Pretty transparent and it works well. I switch it in if I need it, i.e. extraneous noise is there and bothering me. You dial it to the minimum setting that does the job. I am not convinced that the less expensive ISP would not have been satisfactory, as I have not used one. But I got the G String at a good price. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? n/a Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Transparent, if you set the threshold at a reasonable level, just enough to do the job satisfactorily. I think most will set it at about 40db or so. For me, that threshold cuts the noise, and does not affect my sustain. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? chrome, pretty I think Action How was the action out of the box? n/a

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? It's like a tank and hope that heft indicates how it's built overall and that it will last a while. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I just got it and I'm wondering why it took me so long. Overall Your general opinion of this product. I have an older 5150 that has always been noisy and has enough gain to pick up RF interference from the neighbor's house. But, after trying a few rackmount gates and even Boss, I was always diappointed that they all chopped sustain horribly and even muddied the sound. Not the Decimator. I will warn that I do have a slight hum when the pedal is on. I attribute that to ground hum that I've been unable to isolate (it's in the whole house). But, the little hum doesn't get any louder as you turn the amp up, be careful of turning the Decimator off with the volume cranked, though...you'll realize how noisy you amp is. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? One control, and it may take a bit to dial it in. Be patient, it's all very worth it. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? It doesn't have a tone of it's own...a point some other manufacturers have missed, I'm affraid. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Shiny. Action How was the action out of the box? Fit and finish were beautiful. I was surprised how heavy the thing is, though.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Yes, but the in and out configuration is a little awkward for my set up, but no big deal really, find a way to make it work. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Only been a couple of weeks, no problems yet. Built like any other quality pedal so there shouldn't be any problems. Overall Your general opinion of this product. It's chrome and shiny, who cares, you're the only one looking at it. I use a Peavey 3120 and 5150 cab, Boss ME 70, CryBaby Wah, One Spot daisy chain power, and now a Decimator G String. It's simple to use, turn the knob until your amp is quite. Need some feedback or a little more sustain on a note, turn it off, it's a pedel, just step on it. Adjust it right and you can find a nice balance of quite amp operation and still get feedback. One set of in's-out's goes from your guitar to the amp (wah and or whammy pedal should be here also) one goes to the effects loop. They have a rackmount version if you have the money, I went with the cheaper pedal. If you're running single pedals to your amp input, the cheaper Decimator will work fine for you. (Note, you have to use it in front of the amp to get it to work with the effects loop also). Tip. Want quiter effects loops, turn up the Send and turn down the Return, slap a Decimator in the mix and your ninja quite until you hit the strings. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Heavy, like it's made out of metal, because it is. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? No change. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Like it's supposed too. Action How was the action out of the box? Push, it's on, simple.
