I am using this JBL subwoofer with two Headrush 108’s. The sound is nothing short of amazing! I just can’t believe the difference that it has made! With all of this power I could easily gig a fair sized venue. It not only produces bass that you can hear but it produces bass that you can feel! And the whole system when adjusted properly has such a balanced sound! Playing my guitar and drum machine is impressive enough but when I hooked up the music to it my jaw hit the floor! It is absolutely incredible. All I can say is I looked at a lot of subwoofers and I am very, very pleased that I chose the JBL! It’s brought a whole new level to my music! I very highly recommended it! And AMS did an outstanding job of helping me get it on terms. I buy a lot of stuff from them and I had almost used all of my credit but they had a solution for me and now it’s mine! Thank you so much, AMS!

I finally pulled the trigger on this sub, and boy am I glad that I did. It is the perfect pairing for my JBL 305 studio monitors, and setup is quick and easy. This sub is clean, consistent, and powerful. It really helps you feel those frequencies that you otherwise cannot with near field monitors alone. I would recommend this sub to go with any studio monitor setup, especially JBL 305's, or even as a .1 in a surround setup. You really can't go wrong with JBL!

I have had a set of the JBL 305Ps for about 2 years. Have used them daily and know them well. I wanted to get this sub from the beginning but had to wait for almost 2 years to actually get this sub.
Of course the sub will fill out the lows better in your mixing room, but be sure you understand that this will cause your ears to have to learn to adjust. As soon as I installed thus sub I mixed a song to what sounded good to me. After bouncing I listened on a few different devices in a few different environments and discovered my mix was not good at all. Not enough low end.
After a revision I was happy with the mix, but again the next time the same thing happened. It took me a few weeks to get my ears trained to this setup and able to mix with any confidence.
All in all this is a great unit for the price and I wouldn't think twice about recommending. Just be sure to have a treated room and a willingness to take the time to train your ears.

I use this sub with a pair of JBL LSR reference monitors. They sound great together. I've been using it for a few months now. I use it mainly for video editing. Maybe not what you want if you're trying to shake the walls watching a movie but it still gives a lot of full low end. The best is it's clean and not distorted, it can handle a lot of input. It's a big sub so make sure you have room for it, but it's definitely a good choice for studio work, video editing etc

I paired this with a set of JBL 305p MKII's.
The built in crossover is great, I set it to XLF, set the volume to match my tops and plugged in the top speakers. Minimal adjustments were needed to my EQ.
I use them for everything, they can get loud if you want them to. But they really shine at comfortable listening volumes.
The lows out of the sub are LOW, it made this subwoofer well worth every penny.

I am no audiophile but it sounds great to me. I use it at a low level, so I cant attest to how thumpy it can get but it sounds nice for the price. I have it paired with two JBL LSR308s and they compliment each other well. I turn down the low pass on the monitors to lowest level for my room but I know that variable, just something to think about. Its well built, it sounds nice and heavy, its easy to get levels sounding good. Can't complain.

Initially pairing these with the appropriate 8" JBL's from the same line, I have found that I enjoy using this sub even more alongside my Mackie HR824 Mk1 even better, which was surprising for this price range.
Set to an 80Hz cutoff, with pass-through to the JBL's the combination can't be beat for the price. But once I reconnected the sub to my mixing board's mono bus output (summing L+R and compensated with an equal loudness attenuation) and ran this sub alongside my Mackies I was really impressed. I was able to use the controls on the 824's to set a cutoff that not only works well alongside the sub, but it cleans up an area on the mackies that always somehow sounded muddy with the bottom end of toms, and now they're quite distinct alongside the subbass and fundamental of kick & snare. Satisfied with this for the price? Very much so...

I was a bit skeptical if a 200 watt single 10” sub was going to give me a similar bass response and feel as the line array PA systems with many double 18 subs that I have become accustomed to mixing on live. This sub with the 308P Mk2 absolutely give a very accurate representation of that atmosphere but obviously not super loud. This sub truly can deliver that low end feel! Smooth punchy but yet very musical! All of my mixes on it in the last 3 weeks of owning it has resulted in a massive consistency when listening on various play back setups! I know exactly when I have too much sub content now! I have mixed in head phones for many years and this sub with the 308P Mk2 have made a really big difference!

I purchased this sub for my home studio. Man, you never know what you’re missing until you get it. The sound is incredible. Tight bass in it’s true form is what you will get from this sub. It makes it easy to adjust your sound based on the accurate reproduction of the sound you put into it. Value for price is exceptional as this sub beats out others I’ve heard that cost much more. If you need a sub for your studio, or even in a home theater application, get this sub. You can’t go wrong.

This is a power house of bass. Completely blows many equally priced subs out of the water. You can compensate for placement with a select able crossover. This perfectly matches up with the 300 series stage monitors. Extremely happy with the set.

This JBL subwoofer is an awesome buy at the price and it’s killer !!! It adds to the fullness of the JBL 308 monitors I also have in the studio. This is a high quality sub that matches the build quality of my JBL 308s.
It takes some adjustment to balance the gain between my 308s and the sub. It was not a simple as just matching the gain knobs. After adjustment I was a happy customer.
Now I just need to track down the rattle in my room!

I've had lsr308s for a couple of years and sold them and got lsr305's. The 305's were lacking low end but I was able to work with them for about a year. I finally decided to upgrade and the difference is amazing! Not only do I have a better low frequency, but my lsr305's sound way better!
My guess is that the crossover on the sub takes the low end load from the 305's, allowing them to focus on the 80hz+ range more efficiently.
If you're on the fence, I'd definitely recommend this sub. Makes a big difference.

Great studio sub. It is a 10" sub so it can't extend ot get as low as a 12 or 15, but for its purpose of accurate bass reproduction in a studio, it's perfect. It can handle many different frequencies well and rarely bottoms out. Sounds fantastic paired with the LSR308s.

I am music engineer (hip-hop/rap/r&b), and I do a lot of my mixing work at my home studio where my ears are most comfortable. I use Yamahas HS8 primarily for my mid and high range, and I was using a Yamaha sub HS10 with my setup (trying to keep same brand). Recently, I just got fed up with the Yamaha sub's inability to reach the deep low end (below 80 Hz), it would almost flutter in regions below that. So I went out and got the JBL, and WOW, what a difference. No flutter, nice, clean deep bass. It produces the kind of bass you will feel as well as hear..Its well worth the money, especially if you work in home studios or smaller "professional" studios. I haven't worked with the KRK sub at all, but this thing dances circles around the Yamaha sub in EVERY regard.

Can't be beat for the price. Great response, made the stuff in the wall rattle and stuff started falling off my shelves when I pumped a deep bass track. My air conditioner vent was rattling so hard I don't even know what I'm going to do about that.
