I bought this stand because I am short and plan on doing plenty of gigs where I would have to hoist up lots of heavy speakers, and wanted a power assist - needless to say, this fits that bill perfectly - this is a hefty, sturdily built stand and with the twist of a knob, the stand raises my 35+ pound speakers by itself. It is too cool to see! I just hope the pistons last for the long haul, as I will cry if this breaks/doesn't last!
