Product Review This little thing is built like a tank. The knobs are very sturdy and have a strong click when you select a setting. Lots of sounds built in that you can adjust to your own taste or completely create your own. So many possibilities with this. I don't love the tiny keys but you can connect a midi controller with full size keys so it's not a deal breaker.

Product Review The parameters can be confusing to understand, but once you figure it out it isn't too difficult. The keybed is a little stiff for my liking and the 4 note polyphony is odd for a 2002 synth but overall it's great if your wanting to get into synths on a budget. The sound is great.

Got the model with the bag so it keeps the thing safe and I absolutely love it! Product Review It's kewl but it's got a lot of stuff that I don't need and gets in the way. . Too many preset dance machine sounds. I don't want to have right now I want to find a damn Hammond sound... I should probably read the instructions. These effects are very overpowering. I have found the sounds I was looking for. You do need to spend time with it to get a feel. Overall I like it. It's a tweek machine. I wanted a jazzy fusion sound...def Herbie Hancock sounding.

This product is very well made. Seems like it would last for a long time if treated with care. I really love the arpeggiator. You can really take control of the sound. You can cancel out notes that you don't want in the pattern. Really nice. Once you get the hang of the programming matrix, it's really not that hard at all to use. Just takes about an hour of sitting down and just learning with it all does. I was really surprised at the tone. I had watched a lot of videos on YouTube and thought that the sound was pretty good. When it got here and I plugged it up, I was really shocked. A lot better than i expected. Your general opinion of this product. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone who is a fan of synths. Whether you've had one before or not, it's just an awesome machine. Good. Didn't have to change anything. For the price, you'll be hard pressed to find a machine of this quality.

Bang For Your Buck!

By: Musikman from Poughkeepsie, NY, USA      Submitted: 5/7/2009

Feels like a toy, Key feel leaves much to be desired, Goose neck mic is very floppy. With that said, The sound quality is outstanding! Don't be offset by it's size, Sound is rich and fat, Very colorful. This baby will blow you away! Besides the fact that it's portable, The micro is versatile. With reel time sound tweaking and a 8 band vocoder, You can get very creative. You won't get bored too soon if you're in to experimenting. Once you get used to navigating around the on board printed menu. It won't take long to know your way around blind folded. It's pretty strait forward. Like I said, The sound is outstanding! Rich and thick! Don't let the size fool you, It can roll with the big boys! The keys are toyish. Nothing that a full size midi controller couldn't fix. The knobs however are pretty solid. Great bang for your buck! It ain't perfect but it ain't no joke either. The sounds that come out of this thing is mind blowing. Sure... You can argue that it needs this and it's missing that, But if you want all the bells and jingles of a larger unit, Then get a larger unit. I'm happy with it! I will buy the new micro in edition to the original. I think they'd make a great team!

With reasonable care, I havent seen any real quality issues. It is very light though. It doesnt seem like it can handle alot of wear and tear, so you are going to have to take good care of it. It has an amazing range of functions considering its size and price. you can really spend alot of time just playing around with the functions and creating sounds. You can take it out of the box, plug it in and pretty much just start playing. It is very easy to use. Doesnt really compare to the more expensive models, but it is perfect for the novice-intermediate level musician who would like to add an extra element to their sound at an affordable price. Just plug it in and play Excellent value although the microphone it comes with is very cheap. Also be very careful with it since it is so compact and light. I got what I expected though

It's small which is good for me because I lack alot of apace. It feels as though if I dropped it, it would shatter. If your bringing this with you, make sure you're careful. Considering the price I paid, can't complain. I have had it for almost a year now. I bought it as a scratch n dent or non factory sealed item. No problems with it yet, I'm sure I will be using this for a long time. I haven't finished reading the manual. There seems to be alot you can do with it. I like the sounds I get out of it, and the fact you can edit them. I also enjoy the vocoder. On my yamaha keyboard I have the ability to record what I play. I wish this had that ability. I was using it right out of the box, without looking at the manual. I get so many sounds out of this little thing! I hook it up to my keyboard and get even more. Then I can even add effects to the sound via effects on my digital recorder. It sounds great! I was using it right away It's a great synth at a great price. Very pleased with my purchase.

Very lightweight however appears to be built well. Its a Korg so it should hold up quite well.As with all keyboards you should take care of them you cant just beat them and throw them around. Love the vocoder,it can emulate any vocal style/type your looking for from trance, hip hop to classic disco. The included mic boom is a little soft and needs to be more rigid.Korg onboard sounds are awesome. I hated programming. However with this thing is a breese to change or alter sounds just turn the knobs and stuff happens no deep menus or pages to go through. Sounds are top notch for all styles of dance, hip hop or classic Im not real impressed with the action, micro keys are not my thing Im use to playing full sized weighted piano.synth actions.Hovever the action useable and responsive Super buy.Looking for something fun, sounds great and easy to use this is it.

Your general opinion of this product. I'm going to keep this one for a while even though it is cheap enough to replace easily, but why? It sounds great. Ths sound is amazing and the learning curve is very mild. If it had user program locations and the ability to recieve multi channel midi it would be perfect.

QUALITY:
The board is very light, but it seems to be sturdy enough. I had it for almost a year now and it has not missed a beat. It has a cool retro look. The keys feel like they may not last long but this is the kind of board that should be externally triggered anyway.

FEATURES:
The features are ok, the vocoder is a nice touch. I wish the Microkorg had a separate user section to save your sounds instead of having to overwrite a present sound location; you can always restore the presets. The biggest problem I have with this otherwise great board is the fact that you can only trigger one sound/midi channel at a time.

Your general opinion of this product. This synth is incredible. It's tiny, even toy-ish looking, but hook it into your rig, and it is incredible. The sound from this machine is outstanding, the bass sounds are so deep and think. It sounds like a damn minimoog. Finally a modelling synth at a resonable price point, but not dumbed down. This is a full on, hard core, analog synth. Do yourself a favor and purchase this immediatly. There is a learning curve on the interface, but once it clicks, the full on power of this machine becomes fully exposed.

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
Everything seemed to fit and work well - construction seemed a bit light-weight, get a good padded case or bag if you're gigging.

FEATURES:
Great sound from such a little board. The small keys take some getting used to.

EASE OF USE:
Not totally easy out of the box - there is a learning curve.

VALUE:

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
I think it's made petty well indeed, I am kind of new into the whole keyboard thing, cause i never had the money for any of the big tritons or anything.

FEATURES:
It's got an amazing array of features, the default sounds on their own are awesome, but if you don't like em you can import them into the fx console, and change em all up to infinity and beyond.

EASE OF USE:
Honestly the ease of use is my biggest complaint, it's kinda complicated to use, but if you sit down with the good old users manual you can figure out what you want, and once you get that down it's easy from their on, definatly not a right out of the box and you can use everything, but like i said once you read your manual you are good to go.

VALUE:
an ANALOG modulating synth for 400 bucks? I think next time I've got 400 bucks i can spend on what ever, I think I may just get another one for back up purposes, cause it's completely worth the inves

Your general opinion of this product. Too frugal was I to justify spending the kind of money needed to aquire a power house instrument such as this. Well at $500 Cdn I had to give this one a try.

I read mostly good reviews but even the good reviews pointed out its stiff and smallish key's and cryptic editing features. Well I'm here to say this isn't a piano, but rather it's a soundscape makers dream come true. Stiff keys give me a break! It's not a piano!! It's a tinkers work horse able to put up with the repeated abuse that it's designed for.

I kid you not when I say the editing is fun, it has that rustic feel about it like when your driving down a country road and you never know what's over that hill just up ahead or what'll be around that bend. I'm gonna say it!! Too many knobs are a pain in the ass! Everyone say Amen...

So if you're into getting your hands on a simple and intuitive piece of machinery than give this little fox a whirl! But if you're a pianist BEWARE! This far east wonder'

Your general opinion of this product. This is a great value for people who want to use a synth in a somewhat minimal role. I love the sounds, the interface is a bit of a challenge, and the vocoder is fun. It's definitely worth the price and is a further testament to Korg's ingenuity. Great intro to analog synth, price is unbeatable

Your general opinion of this product. I had fooled with the Korg MS2000 in music stores but always balked at the price, but when the MicroKORG came out with the same synthesis engine for a mere $400 I had to give it a try. I do not regret it! This little baby sounds AMAZING and doesn't take up much space in my studio setup. The mini-keyboard is a tad awkward for players used to full-size keys, but not a problem if you control it via MIDI from another 'board. In order to fit all the controls on the tiny chassis, the MicroKORG has five control knobs whose function is determined by turning a pair of Edit Menu knobs. It's a little confusing for first-timers, about the same as toggling through LCD menu pages on 90's digital synths. But once you have conquered the learning curve, you can tweak with confidence on this or any other analog synth. I was a bit disappointed with the single-voice timbrality (only one MIDI channel, one voice playing at any given time,) and 4-note ployphony is only barely enough. But polyphony has

QUALITY:
Everything you heard is true. It's a bit light on the weight scale, but it's held up very well for the time I've had it. I love the look and handling. The vocoder is another story, but all things considered "ya gotta love this synth".

EASE OF USE:
