Subject:Just What I Needed.
Quality: Lightweight body, sturdy professional-feeling pads (also touch sensitive), and a basic screen that does the trick. I don't like the fact that it's plastic, but it's still well-built for it's purpose.
Features: The touch sensitive drum pads in combination to the numerous features on the X-Y pad bring even the most monotonous MIDI sounds to life. And for the record: with the right software, this controller CAN play samples...I have many custom-made drum kits that I use in conjunction with this.
Ease of Use: If you've never messed with a MIDI controller, it could be puzzling at first to get the configuration right for whatever it is you're trying to do (your setup will vary from software to software. keyboards are pretty straight-forward). For the most part, it's very easy to use...and 'no', the instruction booklet won't show you much more than how to setup your physical equipment. I recommend running an internet search when troubleshooting.
Sound: It's a MIDI controller, it has no sound. :) (nah, it definitely variates your MIDI options as to what tone you're looking for.)
Action: Plug it in, download the CD contents, open the library editor software, and you're on your way.
Value: Yes, very much. I got my pK as a hand-me-down for $100. I definitely should've payed more.
Do you own this product?: Yup.
