Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? There are some dodgy/cheap parts- i.e. the ac connection is not top quality nor solidly connected, however his hopefully won't be problem if the amp is treated gently - Don't trip over that power cord! Reliability How has it stood up over time? I've only had it a few days, thus far no problems - I have had mixed results with "made in China" products. Here's hoping that Kustom has done better than some others! General Your general opinion of this product. A clean, no frills, low watt tube amp. (If you don't like the way your guitar sounds, there's "nowhere to hide.") You've gotta get it turned up pretty far to get to the overdrive - even at 4 watts, that's pretty loud in the living room - I occasionally wish the designer had included a master volume control. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Great feel - it has that subtle "chime and bloom" (compression). Bass control lets you lighten up the bass when your neck pickup sounds too "woofy." Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Through a 10" Eminence Delta Demon, this amp has the old school jazz guitar tone of Charlie Christian, Barney Kessel, Kenny Burrell, Grant Green. When you crank it, you can get to Hubert Sumlin. If you don't know who those guys are, you're probably looking at the wrong amp. (I'm not using any pedals, your mileage may vary.) The tone control frequency could be centered more toward the bass - I'm running it nearly all the way to the left, even though the Delta Demon is a pretty mellow speaker. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Amp looks fine...it's very basic...no nonsense. If you show up to jam with this, you'll look like you "mean business." Action How was the action out of the box? NO extraneous noise. Everything works as described. A whiff of an "electronic-y hot" smell that I hope is just the new circuit "burning in."
Love this amp.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? I have only owned it for a month, but have no problems with it, it actually is sounding better the longer I have owned it and turns on every time, let it warm up for a minute and let it rip. Reliability How has it stood up over time? cant say yet, only a month. General Your general opinion of this product. I did a lot of research before buying this new amp. and sure paid off, does what I wanted, can be very clean to nice breakup. and very loud. I love this amp. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? good Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? bright, dark, smooth, over driven, thick, thin. clear as a bell. what ever I want. seems to do it all with the controls available at hand. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? nice black paint job. it matches the kustom 1/12 cab I purchased very nicely. Action How was the action out of the box? plugged in smoothly to the wall, turned on and off, no rattles, knobs turned smoothly. good action .

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Seems to be very well made. Sturdy metal housing and very solid components. Reliability How has it stood up over time? No problems with mine, everything works as it should. If well taken care of, this head should last a very long time. General Your general opinion of this product. The Kustom Defender 15H is an excellent value in price, performance and quality. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? N/A Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Tone is what this little guy is all about. Matched with a good speaker cab the 15H sounds as good as amps costing far more than $199. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Nice black paint job! Action How was the action out of the box? N/A

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? The Kustom heads are well built. I have 4 Kustom amps and love them all. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I've only had it for a week. But my other Kustoms have been going strong for years. I expect the same out of this amp. General Your general opinion of this product. This is a very simple but great sounding tube amp head. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? n/a Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? It's pretty transparent sounding. Your guitar and pickups will largely dictate how this amp sounds. It overdrives well. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I bought a dent and scratch unit. It was just an open box. It looks great. Action How was the action out of the box? N/A
