Subject:
Pleased with first Uke
Quality:
Nice finish, the tuning machines are a step up from the pegs on other ukuleles. The neck is straight. It developed a "buzz" but this turned out to only be a loose washer on one of the machines-easily fixed.
Reliability:
I've only had it 2 weeks but no problems so far.
Overall:
For the price very nice-an instrument not a toy. The tenor size fits my hands better than a soprano and sounds a little deeper, while maintaining the standard tuning. I looked around inside with a dentists mirror and there is no excess glue or sloppy fit of the braces and gussets.
Playability and Feel:
The neck is very straight, all frets play clearly. The tuning machines are smooth and allow fine adjustments. The action may be a little high but as I said all frets play nicely. I may have a local luthier lower the setting as I learn to play it better.
Tone:
It has a slightly warmer sound than the soprano I played at a local shop-fuller in the midrange. (it's a uke, so it's gonna be pretty high in range no matter what)
Finish:
finish is matte and is very consistent. looks nice.
Action:
A little high, but I'm a beginner so this may be something that's normal for ukuleles.
