Best amp for price and then some, I own two.
Quality:
Very tuff, like a tank. VERY heavy. 50lbs? The input plastic worried me but I have only had a problem with FS4 footswitch. A fuse blows ever once in a while but I keep a box in the flight case.
Reliability:
I bought my first one brand new and had it for ten years before I retubed it, like I said maybe a fuse or two but that's all. It has been played one hour , three times a week , for seven years.
Overall:
THE best amp you can GET , let alone at this price range. Its got plenty O gain but you have to spend some time to learn it's range. I have one scooped EQ and one all mids and it is perfect.
Playability and Feel:
It does take a minute to master and there are endless ways to link outboard gear not to mention cab configs. I run one through a 2x12 8ohm 120w cab (celestion V30's 60watts) and one 4x12 4ohm 140w cab (celestion G12L 35watts) VERY good crunch , CRUSHING!
Tone:
This amp can be a little LOUD. You might have to change/find tubes to your licking / get a little more MEAT. I read about the preamp tubes can be matched for CLEAN and DIRTY so you can have cleaner tubes in one and HIGAIN tubes in the other.
Finish:
The mirror face plate can be hard to keep clean but very sharp.
Action:
If you go online they have a quick setup/config but with a few minutes you can enjoy 4 stages of GREAT sound.

this head is made well.
Reliability:
i've only had it for a few days, so i will post another review if i have any problems with it.
Overall:
the Marshall JVM410H 100w was the first amp i considered, but after i researched a bit, i decided to go with the Laney. mostly due to the price. so far, very satisfied with no buyer's remorse.
Playability and Feel:
its like a mesa-marshall. the footswitch is nice.
Tone:
versatile tone. thick and creamy to thin and twangy. very satisfied. this amp can be used in any genre from r&b to the most brutal.
Finish:
the pic shown on this site has two handles on top which look like leather straps and buckles, but the one i have has two handles on top, but they're built into the head... kinda like handles on a 4x12 cabinet. seems sturdy and feels about 50 lbs. the face plate has a mirror finish, but you can't tell that from the pic.
Action:
out of the box, i hooked it up to a custom full stack of eminence 12's and soon discovered that it has several knobs and switches. i figured it out after about 5 minutes of flipping this one, that one and cranking knobs... then i read the manual.
