How has it stood up over time?
this iteration is alot better than the old ones, with the plastic pedals and whatnot. No squeaking issues from the volume/wah pedal like with my old XT Live.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
This is a very handy and very good sounding piece of equipment.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
If you can hear a tone in your head, you can have it with this... to a certain extent. Keep in mind that this is a digital rendition of what the engineers thought real amps sounded like. There are very subtle nuances that are not there in the digital versions... but to be honest, 99.99% of us won't miss those little bits of sound.

awesome finish. Good looking unit.

I have been a full-time internationally touring musician for 22 years. I have played the best guitars and the best gear.
I now use a Variax 700 black trem, 705 bass, and the X3 Live pedal exclusively. I gig a lot. I run direct and let the X3 do the tone work for me. I use in ear monitors or floor wedges and love not lugging amps and cabinets around.
I used the XT Live for years and had ZERO problems with it other than the external power supply.
I am still new to the X3 but it feel more substantial, more ergonomically pleasing and the improvements over the XT are things I had hoped for.

Love the classy 'glassy' look of this pedal.

Great. Some silly, unusable tones installed, but they are mainly to show you what the unit is capable of I believe.

I've had this thing for about 4 or 5 months now and haven't had a problem out of it. So no complaints here.

I've never had a problem with this. People talk about the plastic knobs, but it shouldn't be a problem unless you're dropping it and kicking them. Its pretty sturdy built. Sometimes the metal switches stick, but it's not a big problem.

Right out of the box this thing is gonna sound like crap. There's so much to it that you can't just plug and play. My first mistake was not setting the output. But once you get the updates and play with this for awhile you'll be happy.

Switching between tones is pretty smooth live.

Good tone. Not great tone, but maybe with more tweaking you can get great tones.

Black & silver. Nothing fancy but it looks good.

Tone

Variable as the user sets it up..... if it sounds bad, it's because the person setting it up made it sound this way.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Good looks... just brush off the dust or sand from your shoes or sandals and keep going.
Action

There is a learning curve if you have never used a modeling pedal before. BE PATIENT and persistent. It will work for you if you only try.

I've had NO problems with switches, knobs, etc. I wish the tuner was a bit more readable in direct sunlight. I use an external one anyway
Reliability

Used it professionally almost daily for 6 months. No issues! Sold 4 tube amps after using this for 2 months. The tube amps couldn't keep up. This is quieter, more responsive and much much more dependable.

Don't know how you could do better than this! Ive owned both the X3 Live and the Tonelab LE.. no comparison of sound and connectability. Line 6 has XLR outs that can be sonically separated from the 1/4" outs, allowing you to send a direct signal to the Mixer and one directly to your amp. You can set the amp output to several different modes, depending on what type of amp you use and where you want to connect it (Combo/Stack/Input/Effects Loop). Very very very very versatile!!!! Sound better than ALL of the others! I tried them; I know. Buy it; return it if you don't like it. The AC-30 model sound BETTER than any mic'd AC-30 I have ever owned or use. You would spend thousands and thousands of dollars trying to buy all the equipment that is emulated here. AMAZING!

Very easy to update via Line 6 monkey. Very easy to program onboard and with the GearBox. I recommend using the GearBox with a Netbook and taking it with you to gigs if you are a person who always likes to tweak his pedals. It's easy to adjust and save; easy to go back to saved setups.
