Watch Out!! No Midi Out or Thru
Quality:
It works quite well except for Midi. There is no Midi OUT or Thru. You are stuck with internal ID8 sounds. Some of them are pretty good but they can't be compared to a rack full of dedicated hardware.
Features:
No Midi OUT or Thru. I hope Propellerheads rethinks there stupidity here and launches a free update for this. Unless this happens you can't use external midi gear with this software.
Ease of Use:
There is a bit of a learning curve. It's different from Cubase but so far I've been able to catch on fairly quickly.
Value:
Considering the lack of normal Midi functionality I have to say NO. A big disappointment in this regard. I like to create midi parts ( keyboard, electronic drums ) and then go back and try different sounds. You can't send midi from this software, so you're stuck with the internal sounds of ID8.
Appearance:
THE PDF manual is written in microscopic print, otherwise the program itself is nice to view.
